Yesterday Around 4 PM (GMT+1) afternoon it has been precisely 10 years since I've announced the Titanic mod on Mafiascene and started working on it from that day on till this very moment. At the time I figured that 3 months would be more than enough time to finish it. Little did I know.
I reckon there aren't many mods out there whose development time spanned more than a decade, hell, I wouldn't be surprised if this mod actually has the longest development time of any mod creation ever. It has basically became part of my daily routine to work on it, and probably also is for some followers who check up on the mod every now and then.
Despite that, I'm still willing to finish this project and continue working on it until I'm done. But I ain't planning on spending another decade. ;)
For those that like it, I've made a compilation video showing the mod's progression throughout the years:
As some will have noticed, 2016 has been a relatively quiet year so far. Things should settle down in a few weeks and I hope to continue at a pace like it was about 2 years ago.
I want to thank everyone who has been following this mod and who have supported me throughout the years. There's a handful of dedicated people who have regularly commented on my work and shared their input who I'd like to thank in special. I want to name names, but I fear I might miss out on someone which would be unfair, but these people will know it when reading this.
Thanks again, and I'll hope you guys continue to follow this project for any years to come!
Happy anniversary! It's great to see how you are still making this great mod and you are keeping Mafia 1 Modding scene alive since there are very few mods.
Wow awesome, you are crazy 10 years... So much modder abandonned if no news after 1 years!
I hope Mafia 1 come back on store STEAM... I love STEAM don't ask me "buy copy hard CD", Later!

That is dedication indeed and i'm sure you have a patience of iron to spend 10 years on a single project, congrats.
I went to school in 2006. Now im in high school for a second year now.
Likewise, almost. I was 13 when I started this and also in my first year of middle school. Been employed for a few years now as a 3D artist thanks to this project. :)
Don't know how much years i have been following this great mod, but at least a year or 6 i believe. And as a modder myself i know how much apriciated comments are, so i always leave a comment here. That said, 10 years, o boy!! My last mod took me 5,5 years of daily development, and i was so pleased to be able to finally release it. But 10 years, my god. And to know severel years will still come to finish this. Have to say, was a bit disapointed when i read that. I really, REALLY, do hope i still will be visiting moddb daily to finally see that day coming, when you release it.
But, just take your time and we just wait and see.
One day we will be playing this, what a awesome day that will be.
Many thanks for all your time and effort that you did put in to this. Only a small amount of people really realise how much it actually takes to pull this of. So, good luck to you my friend, just keep the updates coming please.
Greetings,
Leon
Interesting to see how this mod started, only to become one of the best and most ambitious projects on ModDB right now. I am a huge Titanic enthusiast and this is something I am more than eager to see finished. As I said before, this is not only a game project, but a piece of history: A detailed, 3D recreation of the ship, that could (and should) be used in museums and history classes.
Thank you deeply for all your time that you have invested in this project. As SPY-maps said, only a small amount of people realise how much time it takes to make something like this. And I really appreciate you working on giving the world this piece of art.
Keep going and I hope we'll visit the decks of Titanic soon enough ;) .
Hello Rob! Fan of your work here. Congratulations on 10 years! Nice poster you had next to your screen in 2006!
BTW... Have you seen this project? Find it quite similar.
