This is a Quake2 extreme weapons mod, a derivative of the old Weapons of Destruction, only with much more "zing". The released version has been out for over 6 years. Updates with improvements, new features, and increased reliability occur at least 3 times per year.
Features include over 80 unique weapons, with 65+ unique player features including snanners, decoy bots, cloaking, angels (special power-ups), interserver teleports, full entity addition enabling for adding features to existing maps, and more!
Code includes Windows and Linux dedicated servers, which run great on the latest hardware as well as your old Pentium 2 300 MHz box.
Is Q2 a little dated? Yeah, but with the new hardware, including wizbang graphics cards, it looks great!
And did I mention we have maps? The WOS crew, past and present, have created some astounding maps. Plus with the help of their ISP host and fearless leader, they host one of the best Q2 map download servers around, one that also hosts HF / HF2 / BF2 / Q3 and other game content as well. The LOX Mod still lives and gets played. The server count is low, but players do pop up. See the loxophilia server at loxophilia.clanwos.org for some fragging action. The Clan WOS website shows activty at the server. The mod can still be downloaded from the www.clanwos.org website.
Our good buddy Deacon no longer maintain's Deacon's Tomb, for a long time one of the outstanding download resources for Q2, Q3, UT, and HL maps and resources. But we have retained all of the files and are exploring hosting alternatives to continue to provide these files going forward.
Some minor work on Lox source code continues. We are looking into making a public SVN or Git source code release some time in the future.

QwazyWabbit has produced yet another fine installment of LOX mod, version 1.12.9. This update addresses some server issues and is directly mainly towards the dedicated server administrators. The lox mod is still going strong. New features, more bug fixes, servers running Windows and Linux are more stable than ever. Among the new features, an inter-server teleport pad that you can add to any existing map with a simple entity file addition.
