your mod will be awesome, and you are good artist, I want to help you guys with some information...
because your mod uses the best engine it needs the best art interpretation in the characters...I say
the dinos...the latest discoveries reveals that dinosaurs had plumes like actual birds, because birds
are descendants of dinosaurs, so that was so common in species like raptors and in some cases
there are scientist that represents T-rex too...so is needed to considerate the use of plumes in
dinosaurs for displaying the best art interpretation...investigate that, maybe with real paleontologist,
and I hope that will be helpful for your impresive mod... :)

Thanks for the input,

The research side is indeed difficult to get correct. If anyone wants to help (eg. taking photos at museums), it is always welcome. The same things goes for searching the internet for reference pictures...

Regarding feathers:
At the current time computers are not powerful enough to render an entire body covered with feathers. Even we could have feather covered animals, it will be a higher priority to spend cycles on larger numbers of animals, better landscapes, AI etc. That said - we may see some feathered crests in future work.

We've still done some research on this particular issue. From the scientific perspective it is actually quite complicated. Birds are not fully covered with feathers, in addition to having scales on their feet they also have bare patches of skin (usually hidden under feathers) which they use to keep cool. In addition to feathers, we also have skin impressions showing scales in some larger theropods, at least one species of small theropod, sauropods and many large ornithiscians. At the same time we have crests on Psittacosaurus and body coverings on Tianyulong - which suggest that some small ornithiscians were covered with insulation.

So it may be the case that most groups of dinosaurs started out insulated and then gradually lost the insulation...

Thanks for the input - it is always welcome,
