Lost Dragons is a multiplayer total modification aiming to bring out a new thrilling gamemode for Arma3 . Our concept is futuristic objective based team warfare with randomly generated map elements to ensure every game is a unique experience with completely new set of units, weapons, structures and terrain.
Working on the walker animations for 0.2.0 and got the WK-209 quite nicely rigged in blender. Of course had to try it out and made a new walking sequence for it.
It needs more work but its off to a good start I think and the rigging works pretty well which means its much easier to make the animations we have planned.
I imagine stomped cars under it's feet.
Which reminds me! Have to make proper stompy sounds for them too!
Well it looks pretty terrifying indeed, but isn't it a bit slow ??
Anyway I guess it's not finished ;p
I think the animation rendered slower than it actually is or I encoded it in wrong framerate.
What I calculated from playing it in editor ít would go about 120km/h with the current step and speed.
Ha yes, the encoding framerate was too low. Uploading better version now.
Also, could you make it bounce left and right, so it gives the feeling it's temporarily losing its equilibrium until it drops the next foot ?
(Well, that was a bit google-translated... I don't know if you will understand me correctly ^^)
Yes I get what you mean!
I'll see what I can do though there are some limitations how much I can and want to affect the torso since it is not part of the animated leg model but a separate vehicle and I dont want the driver/gunner views to rock and bob too much.
I could add some twist to the pelvis, have to give it a shot.
Once I had the luck to be in an electric locomotive while it was started up. Like blood in the veins, electricity ran through the conduits, and with a futuristic sound awakened the 80 tonnes. Youtube.com
Sounded like this, but with a much deeper humming. I can easely picture this sound for a spaceship or other sort of futuristic mechanism. For the stomping sound, I noticed the slowly turning wheels of a truck on dirt. The small rocks creaked under the rubber, the weight of the truck pushed dirt downwards and away with real force. For a mech giant like this, I can almost hear the earth surrender to it's weight when the foot reaches ground. And the howl of the hydraulic system. This thing looks menacing. When a tank appears in ARMA, I stay in cover. When this passes by, I would like to hear the voiced manifestation of the fear itself. :)
Uuu! That sound was awesome. It could come very much useful in the future!
LoDR
is this for Lord of Dat Rings?
Close. :D
