not possible on xray, the we wanted to return the old shadows around lamps, because in stalker they were removed, since all light is placed outside of the lamp model, not inside. Now all is inside, which creates proper shadows, bowever they react to the ambient and hemi light, when its bright, the shadows are brighter too, its normal, thats how it works.
I didn't wote it down, because I know, however it can be finetuned if you set brighter ambient and hemi light in user.ltx, but then the overall level will be brighter.
Btw, thats how it looked in SoC and CS: Images.gameru.net Since the light was moved out of the lamp object, it projected the shadow back on the wall. I don't think it's more natural or realistic, thant the current one :) At least now the light is inside the bulb (as in real life), not ouside of the lamp (as in the stalker series).
You can decide for yourself, but we keep the current version, I worked alot on restoring these old shadows, not many lamp objects accept this, plus depends on light and shader settings, had to recompile each map several times until we could get this result.
1. Nice pic (as always)
2. The shadows projected by the lamp's grid are fine with the exception of the fact that the further the surface is from the light source, the more blurred the shadow should be - I think that was the point of Mr. CzechDeath when he said "shadows from that grid around light should be very blured almost unnoticable". But if my overall PC graphic knowledge is correct, it can be done with DX11 only. I think only CoP among all STALKER series can offer such shadows to us now.
Screw the light people, the lab looks absolutely fantastic, it's so alluring for one such as myself who loves underground secret facilities with their hidden dark past, I really hope you fellas added a bit of a background lore (like scattered lab reports and such) that can amp up the mystery feeling of the place.
shadows from that grid around light should be very blured almost unnoticable... otherwhise it just doesnt look right - just like this.
I ofcourse only mean it as constructive cryt so drop those rocks please no need to stone me for it ยด=)

But it looks bad, unrealistic.
Shouldn't have downvoted him, what he said is completely true. But that ugly thing can't be fixed in the x-ray engine.

Actually i see this kind of light in reality and it looks like at this screen.
I hope those tissues are physical objects, like in SoC E3 build with "kill the Dog" quest on Military level :)
reminds me of SCP series :)
Very very nice!

I'd be very surprised the many shader mods they have out don't have something for this

Cheerio'!
Gotta love all the underground pics. Lighting is awesome!
