Our goal is to bring into focus the Legacy Era, but more specifically the Second Imperial Civil War. Play as either the tyrannical Krayt Empire, freedom-seeking Galactic Alliance Remnant or the obscure Confederation Revenant.

Good one - though having coded planets and made descriptions for them myself I got the feeling the game will be reluctant to display the text in its length.

Haha, funny you should say that, my original draft was getting on for twice as long - this has already been severely cut down! You could be right, alhough I've seen descriptions on other mods that have scroll bars... we'll see :)

Yes, I have seen those with scroll bars as well. So I think all of it should be able to display nicely.

Yes, in my experience though even with the scroll bars the game appears to support texts only to a certain length.

I often had to cut descriptions in half or down to a third of its original length as well.

Well for units its slightly different because they display in a different way, in those blue boxes that come up when you hover over it. The box will extend itself to fit around any length of description that you give it (although if it's too big then the box could get taller than your computer screen). As for planet descriptions that display before a battle, Cheesecake and I reckon that large descriptions will use scroll bars so you needn't worry :)

Description

Afro-yoda-ninja (you may know him as part of the YVaW team) is assisting the Legacy Era Mod in several ways, one of which is writing the descriptions for planets and locations present in Galactic Conquest mode. He is also helping with audio (music and sound effects) aspects. Below is his description of Agamar.

Agamar

A colourful planet with a colourful history, Agamar has hosted civilisation since well before the days of the Old Republic. Despite its reputation as a nondescript agriworld, Agamar has been invaded an abnormally large number of times for an Outer Rim planet. It withdrew from the Republic and joined the rapidly expanding CIS in 22BBY, only to be attacked by the Republic in the month following the battle of Geonosis. The planet was absorbed into the Empire following the Clone Wars within the infamous "Oversector Outer", but as the government struggled to maintain order throughout the outer rim, Agamar was among the many planets that became disenchanted with the Empire, and the “Agamar Resistance” was formed. News of the alleged insurgency soon reached the Empire however: a star destroyer promptly arrived, chose a defenceless village, and obliterated it. The few survivors chose to move rather than attempt reconstruction. The massacre shook the resistance hard, but their resolve only strengthened, and the planet informally joined the Rebel Alliance. Agamar was frequently assualted in the years following Endor, changing hands three times throughout the conflict. It was also captured by the Yuuzhan Vong and eventually became part of Fel's Empire and, following Darth Krayt's coup, the Empire-in-Exile. Agamar is one of the locations where the Orbital Hydroponics Facility can be constructed to provide an extra boost to your military population capacity.

Credit to Afro-yoda-ninja for writing the description and to Burntstrobe for the Agamar and nebula textures.
