"Land of Steel & Smoke" is going to be one of the best mods created for Mount & Blade warband in 2019 . A historical mod with events in the 16th-century especially in the period of ( 1524-1578 ) when the holy war had broken out in Europe and north Africa. The world of the 16th century is on fire. The pikes are sharpened and the muskets are loaded. Can you stand against the foes?

It's rather astonishing how accurate this map is... I can't be so sure for Middle East, but goddamn European borders are perfect.

Thank you! There were alot of hours put into research to make this extremely accurate, with small and almost unnoticeable details like the Genoese Chios at the coast of Anatolia, the several Venetian colonies or the Portuguese holdings in North Africa, etc and as for the Middle East it's mostly accurate.

Hello Mr. If I'm true Prussia Wasnt Controled by Teutonics, it was controlled by Duchy of Prussia (Vassalized by Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth) (Teutonic Order has left history scene in 1521 and turned to Duchy of Prussia) And Also Northern Baltics weren't controlled by Teutonics, too. They were Ruled by Livonian Order and City State (Ruled By Archbishop) of Riga (It doesnt have any other lands witout Riga). And About Crimea...
Simply, It had got more lands in Northern Lands.
Tripoli was rulin' by Tripoli (Vassal of Ottomans)
There is a Land of Venice Northern Albania. There was Great City of Montenegro, not Rebuplic of Venice. Thats all I know about 1520s Thanks

trofind As you can understand we can't represent each individual vassal state because then we'd have more than 50 separate nations, but the most important vassal states will have a separate flag to make it look different from its parenting nation. As for the Teutonic order, the Duchy of Prussia emerged in 1525 that's 1 year after the starting date as for the Livonia Order while they were somewhat separate they still shared many similarities as the L.O. branched out of the T.O.. Now, this is obviously subject to change and we might consider separating the two nations (T.O. and Livonia Confederation) but for now this is the final map. As for Crimea, if you can PM me with creditable sources about its territory the map will be changed accordingly.

Hi again, I was not avaible for times. About Crimea I don't know name of city or castle just know there is a Crimean land. Also I got new info's.
1- England was ruling Dublin in Ireland other provinces were ruling by Irish Kingdoms.
2- It is not Muscovy, it is Tsardom of Russia.
That's all I guess good luck!

From what I can see, the start date of this mod is 1524, which means that it was still the Grand Duchy of Muscovy, since it didn't become the Tsardom of Russia until 1547.

The part about Ireland is sorta true. Central English authority over Ireland had pretty much disappeared during the War of the Roses, and a mixed situation occurred during the early 16th century. Many Irish lords stayed loyal to the crown, but more based on alliances and favours rather than direct rule. The reconquest of Ireland started after the start date of the mod.

For balancing reasons we separated Spain from the HRE, despite historically both being under Habsburg domain.

Good luck by the way. But you need to change ''Sultanate'' part. Turks are not arabs. And Ottoman Empire was a Turkish Empire. Waiting for the release :)

we are muslims.im from algeria and in the past we We had a strong union with the Ottoman Empire in the early sixteenth century. Our ships landed in our ports in 1518. Because we requested his help to get rid of the occupation of Spain and after its success, we applied to join the Ottoman Empire. They agreed and Sultan Selim I appointed Khairuddin Barbaros as its ruler. This was the beginning of the Algerian fleet. Khairuddin and his brother, Baba Arouj, were the sailors of the group of ships of the Ottoman Empire. They contributed to the construction of the sophisticated Algerian naval fleet .which was the ruler of the medteranian sea three centuries

Regardless, this is the 16th century we are talking about. Its a glaring inaccuracy. Ottoman Empire was very much an empire.

Looks great. Dont do as Europe 1200 though, where they have so many settlements that the game freezes every minute for few seconds. Warband doesnt let you add too many settlements on map, it's an old game, old engine.
