Lambda Wars (formerly Half-Life 2: Wars) brings the struggle between the human resistance and their Combine overlords to a multiplayer real-time strategy setting. The Lambda Wars beta only requires Alien Swarm installed to play. It features 3 multiplayer game modes: Sandbox, Annihilation and Overrun, showcasing the Rebels and Combine playable factions and a full-fledged RTS interface and HUD. There is also a singleplayer tutorial and a handful of singleplayer missions.

Description
Short demo of bonus crates. These crates are randomly spawned during a match and last about 25 seconds before they disappear. Either contains resources or a random unit.
That must terrifying! Opening a crate to only find an antlion in it!
Needs more headcrab... ;)
Finding organic units in crates seems a bit silly. How about tech tree unlocks or one of special powers ( suppressor or a nuke ) instead?

A little silliness is acceptable if it means I get to feel the satisfaction of running over a crate and getting a free unit. That is a damn good feeling in gaming.
