This mod started out as a compilation of all those other mods that add new styles to Jade Empire. Eventually I figured out how to add styles myself and added a few more. All in all there's around 40 styles now. 50 if you count weapon upgrades as well. Quite a lot of styles have been modified. Some have been re-balanced. To others I've added new effects. And some have been re-purposed entirely. But I didn't stop at adding and modding styles either. There are new gem armors, new techniques, new merchants, brand new concepts like specializations... I can say without the slightest bit of exaggeration, that this is the largest mod for Jade Empire out there. In fact: It is many times larger than all other mods combined and that is not just because it *contains* so many other mods. The last time I checked the codebase totaled to 25,000 lines. In other words: This mod is a complete overhaul.
My mod's web site showcases the new styles in their purest form. You will see me start and finish combat in a single style at a time. That's certainly useful for documentation, but it's not how I play the game. I like to mix and match styles and switch tactics a lot. That is after all what my mod is about: Giving you more options!
This video shows the stone armor - one of two new gem armors my mod adds to Jade Empire. Every opponent who makes contact with your character will take damage from this armor. But not just that: The stone armor also increases the damage you will do with Stone Immortal.
Unfortuanely Ogres are immune to certain types of magic. Ice Shard and Dire Flame can harm them, but Stone Immortal and Tempest cannot. So I'm using my two favorite martial styles here: White Demon and Divine Void. Ogres may hit exceptionally hard and with their ridiculously long club, they have a tremendous range, but they're slow as molasses.
Which is not to say I wouldn't recommend the Ogre Transformation. Quite the contrary! Playing as an Ogre is fun! A bit tricky, maybe, but fun!
Oh, I should probably mention that my mod also adds three more gem armors with completely different characteristics...
