I have been improving one of Undying Nephalim's older releases of Hyrule Total War - namely the 3.8 version released at the end of 2014 and the final version with all the old faction rosters. The mod will have custom strat-map cities/agents, custom battle-map settlements, new resources on the map, new factions such as Majora and the Oocca, new units for most older factions and the minor factions especially, new animations, new 2d-art. Majora will use unused reskins for the Zora, Kokiri, Gorons and Hylians made by the Undying Nephalim, while also using new re-skins made by Codeman over at the Hyrule Conquest Discord for the rest of the intended factions that Neph intended for Majora to use - and this submod aims to bring you the most finished Hyrule Total War yet - using the older models because i think some of them were better but not all.

Report RSS Installing Hyrule Total War: Classic Ultimate (Both Versions)

1. Patch the Kingdoms.exe (CD) or Medeval2.exe (Steam) with both the 4gb patch and the Large Address Aware patch - this MUST be done correctly or the mod will not be able to start I believe. At least the campaign won't start- or the battles will crash all the time. 2. I've updated the executable.bat file, and the AUI.bat-file. They have both been edited so you'd no longer need to use the outdated method with Steam. You can start the mod by double-clicking on the executable.bat for both versions

You can start the mod by double-clicking on the executable.bat for both Steam and the CD. When you use the executable.bat you'll be automatically using the "Kingdom of Hyrule" UI as the chosen UI - but certain other factions will still be correct.

The AUI.bat-file is working as well, and will enable you to use faction specific UI for every faction but the minor factions and the Oocca/Church of Majora. Just double-click on the AUI-file and follow the instructions.

The "Hyrule"-folder should of course be placed inside of the \Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\ for Steam. And for the CD it should be D:\Games\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\ or whatever directory you have chosen. Make certain that you do not place it as in mods\Hyrule3\Hyrule. There should only be one "Hyrule"-folder without a number.

You should no longer rename the "Hyrule"-folder into one of the expansions for Steam, and you should no longer use any other method than the simple CD-method - I've edited both .bat-files to enable the same easy process. Just double-click the files and the mod should start by itself. You may need to have Steam running but you no longer need to start the game through Steam.

Remember that the .bat-files (executable.bat and AUI.bat) should not be patched with the 4gb patch or the Large Address Aware patch - those are the wrong files - the patches are for the game .exe-files and not the mod-files.

Before you start a campaign as the Church of Majora, the Oocca and some of the others you need to launch a campaign as the Kingdom of Hyrule in order to make sure the scripts work.

Then exit back to the main menu and start the Majora campaign.

That should solve the issues with CTD almost immediately after starting the Majora campaign.

You need to save at least two saves like Majora 1 and Majora 2 - so when one is corrupted your game isn't completely screwed.

Medieval2 can fuck up saves from time to time.

Write below if you have trouble, but I won't be able to help everyone - I might take note of what you're writing though when creating a video later.

Regarding "CRASHING/CTD" in the mod:

"1. Avoid right-clicking on the unit cards too often as that can actually crash the mod for every faction - it's one of the old CTD:s that I haven't been able to solve. Every time you right-click on a unit-card on the campaign-map you are risking a CTD. It's more stable in battle when right-clicking cards.

Hm, something is wrong if the Zora campaign is crashing on the map between turns. There shouldn't be any such CTD in this submod with the exception of if you right-click unit cards.

CTD before and after battles do happen, especially as the Zora if you take like Gor Forgaru from the Gorons - I've had that crash after the battle has been won myself.

This is what you need to do:

1. Save before and after EVERY battle in the campaign.

2. Play every battle at least twice - because on the second try it shouldn't crash again.

3. In Gor Unduga and possibly in two other instances (against a certain Lizalfos general) the game will crash after every real-time-battle - auto-win these battles using the cheat-console and the auto_win cheat.

I've played 89 turns and had to use this autowin cheat twice against a Lizalfos general when I did play as the Kingdom of Hyrule - it was with the old version of my submod from the last summer. I tried the Zora when I playtested and you can't conquer Gor Unduga either because when about to return to the map the game will crash. Using the auto_win cheat solved the problem.

- Most areas will work on the first or second try. CTD on ending turns shouldn't happen period."
