I have been improving one of Undying Nephalim's older releases of Hyrule Total War - namely the 3.8 version released at the end of 2014 and the final version with all the old faction rosters. The mod will have custom strat-map cities/agents, custom battle-map settlements, new resources on the map, new factions such as Majora and the Oocca, new units for most older factions and the minor factions especially, new animations, new 2d-art. Majora will use unused reskins for the Zora, Kokiri, Gorons and Hylians made by the Undying Nephalim, while also using new re-skins made by Codeman over at the Hyrule Conquest Discord for the rest of the intended factions that Neph intended for Majora to use - and this submod aims to bring you the most finished Hyrule Total War yet - using the older models because i think some of them were better but not all.

Updated as of 2019-06-26 - Assault Battalions had a glitched shoulder texture - it has been fixed! Audorn now has a custom city, I've fixed the issue with not being able to recruit Moblins in Wejyblin as Majora, and instead of Moblins you'll now recruit Ordonians in Ordonafawn - i had made a blunder! Mounted Recruits had a silver surfer horse which has been fixed, Twili Sorceresses available for Zant, Bonemold Monk texture fixed, Swordsmen Recruits available from all barracks etc! Damn, this looks amazing but it's not letting me download the file it says this.The file you have selected (Hyrule.rar) is not available via any mirrors. Please check back shortly as our servers update every 5 minutes. i'm new here so i don't really know what to do.

Very odd, i do get the same issue - hopefully solved in a short time or i'll have to contact site moderators because the mod is 100% uploaded.

No idea why it would not be available through any mirrors.

Congrats on release! However, I am having an issue: It crashes after loading for a few seconds. I get to the H:TW splash screen, then after a few seconds it CTD's with no errors.

I have a CD version so I manually moved the folder into 'mods' after extracting.

EDIT: I should add I have a couple other Med2 mods that work, and I have been using the 4GB patcher for years. I downloaded the Google Drive link as it still won't download here on ModDB

Hm, it's very hard for me to know what the issue is. You did move the folder out of the duplicate-folder? The folder should be named "Hyrule" and not "Hyrule1" or Hyrule.1" as the winRAR will probably name the first folder in the archive.

There is another folder inside with the name "Hyrule", and it needs to be placed in Mods - the other folder should not be placed there.

If you've placed the "Hyrule" folder inside of "Mods" then it's hard to tell why it won't start if mods like BotET starts for you. I mean, i don't have an issue myself. Doesn't the log say anything?

It could be the Medieval2.preference-file - i could try sending you mine as i know with some mods such as Third Age: Reforged and Warcraft that it would not start unless people had my preference-file. It should then be placed in the main Med2 directory. It's available at the Warcraft-mod btw. I would try using it.

Yes, I moved the Hyrule within the Hyrule folder, so clicking it brings up the mod files, like others I have installed.

If you could upload your preference file that would be great! I can check to see if it works, and if it does see what is different compared to mine. Maybe upload it here to ModdDB?

Try removing the .rvm-file in data/world/maps/base but make a copy of it in-case it doesn't recreate itself when starting the mod and the campaign/custom battles.

Otherwise i cannot say unless you make a video on exactly how you installed it and how you started it.

if i try to play majoras faction with bouth mercs and heros on in custom battels it crashes

Should be impossible unless you have "enabled" on.

Mercs cannot be used with Majora in custom battles. They have over 200 units. That is a sure CTD.

When I saw this released I was super hyped. I loved this mod back in the day and was sad when the original creator announced he was moving on. So far, I'm very much enjoying your fan-mod, and it's freeform campaign feels more "complete" then the original did. However, I have encountered a few (glitches?) in my first playthough so far as the Kingdom of Hyrule.

1. Whenever I train the Triforce Vanguard unit from Hyrule Prime, the unit doesn't, er, get trained. It MIGHT be creating a general unit instead with an ironclad bodyguard, but its hard to tell due to the general spawning event being common early game, or its simply producing nothing at all and that's just a coincidence. Either way, I've trained the Triforce Vanguard unit four times and own zero.
2. When the Sheikah "Betray" you, the following turn every Good faction breaks their alliance with them... accept for me: Hyrule. For some reason I remain allied with them, and had to build a diplomat to cancel alliance which cost me reputation, even though they're going AWOL.
3. Not sure if its a bug, or something you planned, but the Swordsmen Recruits are available only from the tier 1 barrack, not any of the later tiers. Seems kinda pointless since its only a 500 gold cost and 1 turn to get tier 2, where you lose the ability to recruit them.

Thats all I can remember so far, but tbh, I've encountered less bugs with your fan-mod then the original so far, and the overall performance is much smoother. Only CTD I've had yet has been the infamous UI glitch which has happened once.

I am glad you are enjoying the sub-mod, and that it feels more complete as that was intended :).

1. Triforce Vanguards are a special unit that will only spawn when Hyrule Prime is besieged. Also, i probably activated their recruitment by mistake. Not sure - but the script will prevent more than one from spawning and they spawn only when you are defending. Triforce Vanguards are guardians of the Triforce located in the Hyrule Prime Church. I may actually disable their recruitment so they aren't recruitable, as they'd still spawn.

2. Yes, Hyrule is supposed to stay allied with them unless the player choose differently. Nothing is unintended with the Sheikah and Hylian relations.

3. The Swordsmen recruits were originally like that, but i see your point and could actually make them available in the later tiers as well - the upgrades happen so fast anyway.

I am happy to hear that. The recruitment of Triforce Vanguards should probably be de-activated as they'd still spawn through the script when Hyrule Prime/Majora Prime is attacked - i will fix that i think. The UI-crash can happen if one is right-clicking a lot on different unit cards/building cards in a row. Not sure - but that is an unsolved issue that should be rare thankfully.

Nice work, glad to see this coming back to life. That being said im just getting in the campaign as hyrule and im wondering why link isnt a general? Is this an error is he just meant to be a unit?

Because i cannot add generals to the script, and i actually had added Link as a general - but this caused adoptions to happen every turn. You see - the only way to prevent adoptions is by using the campaign_scripts-file instead of the descr_strat - like Neph did in 3.8.

Having Link, Tsume and Kazakk as generals will result in adoptions of generals every turn in the beginning of the game, with vanilla medieval 2 unit cards.

By keeping them units i won't have that issue.

- Of course you can make them spawn like generals in the campaign_script - but i tried and failed. I only managed to spawn ordinary units and giants. Not generals with their own traits etc. I tried copying the other heroes but got no result in-game.

I do prefer Link as an officer rather than be spamed by the constant adoptions.

Link's bodyguard should be retrainable in their cities? Maybe not as it's a one-of-a-kind hero-unit.

Have to test, but Triforce Vanguards are basically guardians of the Triforce.

As what faction? I believe any faction can reach it with the exception of the Oocca and the Church of majora - because i didn't add them to all the complicated scripts.

The Civil War must end, and the Twili must probably build the portal on their side first.

Yeah probably, the script is made so that they are the invaders.

You can most likely send troops there after they have arrived and you'd get an event-message if that happens.

- It is possible to use the move_character cheat though if you want to anyway.

I've fixed the issues you and others have mentioned, but i do lack the skills to fix the Link-general issue - and still prevent adoptions from happening.

You need to always be detailed otherwise i will simply delete these posts.

1. On what turn did it crash?

2. Did you patch the Kingdoms.exe (CD-version) or Medieval2.exe (Steam) with the 4gb patch? It's required unless you have done so already for other mods.

3. Did you play one turn as the Kingdom of Hyrule first when starting a new campaign? As you'd need to do that so that the scripts are in order. If the Hylia picture shows with the Wizzrobe-event then it is working - if you start with another faction it may cause the scripts to not be in order, and the mod will surely crash at turn 2 or 3.

4. A crash is normal at about turn 41 at the AI's turn - just re-start the mod and play.

I have tried the 4gb patch, it works, but it sometimes still crash such as finish a campaign(for me, when finish a campaign with river, it crashed.)
BTW, is there any voice for this mod?

1. Finish a campaign with River? I do not understand what you mean by that. Of course the mod can crash like any other mod, but then you'll just need to re-start it and continue playing.

There are no "gamebreaking" CTD in the campaign anymore - but the mod can still CTD if you click on too many building portraits/unit-cards or if you are unlucky after a battle. I'd suggest to always save the mod before a real-time battle. That is the only way to not have to replay lots of stuff. Save before each battle during the campaign.

2. No, units in Hyrule doesn't talk and have only grunts as voices.

There are many tutorials available for Steam and the mod can be installed in different ways for Steam.

my game will load and ethier crash in the main menu or it will let me pick a faction load it then after 3 or 4 turns it'll crash

Link is missing a Description and its replaced with an X instead. Certain Units such as Zelda 1-4 are missing and Dodongos overworld sprite is just a questionmark. I have reinstalled it many times but to no avail. Im using Windows 10.
