I did find a workaround however. For some reason loading EP 1 and EP2 content breaks the mod's scenes like voices and how cut scenes are transitioned, so go through the gameinfo.txt using notepad (notepad ++ would be greatly beneficial) in this archive and remove the sections referencing the EP 1 and EP 2 vpk files.

Note that however as Kill The Monk does use content from both episodes, you'll then need to extract the content from both the episode's .vpk files (located in the half life 2 folder or SDK base 2013) using GCFScape and place them into the 'killthemonk' folder so you won't be ridden with 'ERROR' models everywhere. Make sure its in the 'original' Kill The Monk folder, and not in 'this' compatibility folder.

The only problem I found with this solution is the Advisor fight near the end where its impossible to defeat it as it can't be hurt or damaged. The workaround I found however was just to simply reload the EP 1 & 2 content using the gameinfo.txt and once the Advisor is dead, go back to edit the gameinfo.txt to remove the references to using the Episodic content.

Thanks for your help! Now I can hunt down the monk

Edit: So I tried I your method and it didn't work. I'm still stuck on the intro scene. It was worth a try anyway.

Seems like a scene problem, as in the intro (very first chapter) at least for me the intro doesn't progress as soon as when the cut-scene transitions into when Monk prepares to put G-man into the grave.

I also assume its a scene problem because I recall you saying in another addon about making your own compatibility patch about loading other game content, as I quote from you: "If you didn't remove calls for Episode One and Two and your mod is strictly HL2, you may run into some problems, such as broken textures or not working scenes(when NPCs just don't do anything). You shouldn't put in vpk any files, that modify HUD(!)." So in this case, Monk doesn't bury G-man, therefore breaking the progression of the cutscene.

So, the odd thing for me is removing the loading of EP 1 and EP 2 content through the gameinfo.txt as then the cutscene progresses as normally, despite how Kill the Monk uses episodic content.

Oh nvm, everything seems to be working now with the update you put out, or also because I redownloaded SDK Base 2013 and episode 1 and 2 again. Thank you for your work on this patch, playing with MMod on this is great.
