Hjermskiir News - 9th of July, 2015

The development of Hjermskiir is finally picking up, as we're getting on track with what we are doing, and things are finally starting to pick up. The interiors for the cities is currently a fast work in progress, NPCs are being worked on at a great pace and dungeons for the island are currently in development. As well as this, we will be working on the random wilderness encounters and exterior improvements for v0.5a's development phase. This is where things will pick up, as the main development of environmental features and wilderness encounters as well as city life and NPCs will be completely done, meaning that quest writing and book writing will be the priority.

While a lot of the lore and such is not yet written, I (The Coffee Guy) have many ideas as to what is to come for Hjermskiir. Questlines are being pieced together in my head. These will be integrated and merged within this small, functioning yet empty world we will have created. As well as the side quests being written and implemented, I expect around 50% of the literature to be done, and some new creature variants will be implemented into the Hjermskiir levelled lists. Custom armor and weapons are also a priority, but may be extended to the 0.6a development phase.

As you can see in the screenshot below, the LODs for the island of Hjermskiir are actually done to a full extent now, although they are subject to change due to possible landscape changes which may take place. Other than that, LODs will be generated with Oscape at a 256000 mesh resolution, which is rougly 1/3 of the quality of Skyrim's LOD. Taking into account the drop of quality, the LODs for Hjermskiir do look pretty good.

As you can see, a lot is to be done, but this is where the project is finally picking up. There is hosting for this mod on Dark Creations, which you can find here.

If you are interested, be sure to follow our ModDB page on here to keep tabs on the project. It is the main news location for our mod, and will always be the first place for important announcements.
