This mod aims to replace or improve textures in game with new high resolution work while retaining the original feeling and color palette of the game. Characters in game will be given much higher variety of uniforms, equipment and decals which will allow for much deeper experience for those who want to revisit the game or play it for the first time after long time. The textures are redone using original ones as base whenever possible (most are still nice and have at least basic realism) to retain original design, but all textures are upscaled to twice (or more) of original resolution, sharpened, and have decals either redrawn, or replaced with as much reverence to realism as possible. In effect the skins are extra realistic, but also don't look out of place - everything is done as to not ruin the original scene background and color palette that has been developed specially for SPR and MoHAA.
This image shows basically what the main intention behind this mod is. The vanilla textures are in fact really good. All they need is upscaling them and adding proper decals to make the game perfectly fine visually in current year. Here you can see vanilla Afrika Korps uniform that was upscaled and had hi-res decals added to it for realism and better visual quality.
In vanilla the Afrika Korps officer had model of Heer officer, just recolored. This was not really of good quality and was instead replaced. In Africa german officers usually wore the same light tropical attire as enlisted men - so now officers share model type with standard Afrika Korps soldier. The difference is in skin, which has different tunic with proper officer shoulder boards.
The khaki officer visor cap usually wasn't used in Africa either - all I could find was that it was worn by generals or Luftwaffe officers, Afrika Korps infantry officers usually just wore standard field caps. However I gave him crusher cap so as players can differentiate them easier.
This mod introduces new uniform textures for every character, and uniforms and gear will change depending on role of soldier - for example riflemen will have standard uniforms and helmets, while snipers will wear light field caps and camouflaged attire. Uniforms and headgear will be properly added for every faction (Heer, Kriegsmarine, SS, US Army, Rangers, Airborne) with proper insignia.

I'll see what can be done, the Afrika Korps helmet so far is left with high resolution vanilla DDS, the DAK officer cap was left as is as I didn't have idea what to do with it - from what I know these caps were not used by DAK officers (except for generals etc), only Luftwaffe used them. I'll try to bring them up to hi-res, maybe recolor the current Heer officer visor cap
