An Alternative History Mod for EU4. In 146 B.C. just before the Roman forces reached the city of Carthage and destroyed it at the end of the Third Punic War, a fleet, built in secret and in violation of the Second Punic war's peace treaty, left the city never to return. 50 ships, full with thousands of civilians, soldiers, food, treasure, tools, ancient relics and important people, followed the route of Hanno the Navigator's explorations of West Africa and founded a new city, in the Qretes river estuary. It was called 'Qart Hadast', or 'New City', just like its motherland. 1590 years have passed since the founding of Qart. Empires have risen and fallen and it's impact on the African continent and the world have been deep. Will any of its succesor states be able to restore the glory of the Old Qartian empire or will they fail to pass the test of time?

About the Mod

News

**EDIT**
Version 1.01 was updated to play with 1.24 and all DLC including Craddle. Includes minor fixes.

Version 1.0 of this mod was made with Europa Universalis IV version 1.2 with all DLC included
except for the newest one, Craddle of Civilization. It has not been tested in other versions.

It does not require any other mod, it is completely self-reliant
It does not change game mechanics or anything in the core of the game, so it's probably compatible
with a number of other mods.

The changes include:

Increased development in all west africa and congo regions
New countries
New cultures and culture group
New country flags
Modified and renamed areas and regions
Renamed many provinces, coastal provinces and tradenodes in Africa
1 New trade node and lightly modified adyacent trade routes
New branch of christianity
New type of republic government
Localisation for all of this ONLY in ENGLISH

The number of provinces didnt change.

Well I'm updating to 1.02 now. It is compatible with 1.25 except for a detail with the new "Missions", but I think this is paradox's fault, because I have not tampered with that at all. You will get some weird non-localized missions at start, saying that you have colonized florida succesfully and other places, when its obvious you have not. I dont know if the AI gets it too but the little bonus will go away in 10-20 years so I dont think it will affect much.

Version 1.0 of Heirs of Carthage is not compatible with 1.24 due to DLC province and culture changes.

I have now uploaded version 1.01 that is compatible with EU4 1.24.
