A Zombie Survival Half-Life Mod The Infected are everywhere. Everything you know has been destroyed. Friends and family are infected or missing. Do you have what it takes to survive in an undead world?
While XASH has it's benefits, I will go back to making a steam/won/whatever bootleg you have compatible mod. This is to ensure multiplayer works, among other reasons.
Great to hear that you are returning to the GldSource :). What does this mean for Hazard: The Plague though? Do you have to rework everything you have done? Does this put the release date further on?
Well it does not necessarily mean the mod will be delayed that much. After all not only did I learn a lot from programming the old version of Hazard, I can still reuse some of the code. However much of it was poorly organized, and I had broken the zombies through some code modifications I had made. I am, however redoing the zombie artificial intelligence, and rethinking zombie abilities.
The move to steam means that I will be focusing on a multiplayer experience, but I will ensure that single player games are still possible, and I may make some modes exclusively for single player.
You can probably expect a release sometime in the fall, because I am now prioritizing things which need to be done. Before, I didn't know what I wanted, I kept adding more and more new features rather than focusing on ones necessary to a release.
Having everything organized is a big plus when making a mod. It can reduce the amount of time it takes to do, well, almost everything. I am sure you'll be back on track soon enough and that both the single and multiplayer experience will be awesome when you release your mod :) .
Keep going and good luck with all the fixes!
#Reply to Osiris, forgot to click on the 'reply' button :S .
Yes. The next release may be quite simple, but I will try to have a good amount of different zombie classes. The zombie base is already completed so it should be much easier to add new zombies now.
Well, I can't imagine how the word 'simple' can describe any of this awesomeness but it's nice to hear that things work out quite well for you :) . I thought the switch would be a pain in the ***, but it seems that you have everything under control.
Can't wait to see more ;) .
