The (Hard Core Tactical Mod) is a total conversion mod for Call of Duty 2. In this mod almost every aspect of Call of Duty 2 has been re-done in some form or another to take your Call of Duty 2 single player gaming experience to the next level. This mod is not intended for those looking for a shooting gallery type gaming experience. Some advices:
-try to slow down the knife animation (I think it can be done by editing the weapon file) and the fist(?) animation as well.
-You can easily remove the word "Vassili"from the dialogues by editing them with Audacity.
-I think the sprint animation needs to be a little bit more "blended in" (or, well, you can always make the sprint animation to resemble the one from United Offensive).
-The Kar98K bolt is a little offset..
-please...PLEASE use the MP40 skin from Back2Fronts!

One thing i've noticed is that allied NPC's either are capable of taking far more punishment, or are marked as 'essential' which i am greatly thankful for, as in B2F on the same Map, i couldn't progress as the Commissar got killed, stalling the scripting.
And I agree with Marcomix, the Knife animation seems just a 'little' too fast. And perhaps slightly extend the cooldown between knife swings by maybe 0.5 seconds or so?

2: I still have to work on dialogue, so I can get rid of the word "Vassili" from the German dialogue if you’d like. Keep in mind that I would have to do this for several maps so editing the word "Vassili" from each and every German audio file will probably be a big job and would definitely push the release date back a bit. I haven't looked into it that closely but I'd bet the word Vassili is used a lot within the audio files.
3: The sprint animations are done and I'm not revisiting any of that. Too much work.

In the Leningrad map, if the Commissar gets killed it’s a show stopper. So as you’ve said, certain characters are marked as essential because they are needed throughout the entire map.

I tried 0.5 seconds like you asked but that was like slow motion so I split the difference and went with 0.3 seconds. It’s a little slower but still fast enough to get the job done.
Trust me, if you ever need to use your knife or fists, you'll be glad that it’s not as slow as you suggested because the Ai fight a lot harder than they did in the stock game.
