Our newest modeler, The Didact, did this in his spare time. Expect the final version to have its details baked on. Incredible detail though.
Don't expect to see this ingame until we reach Rebellion though. Also, if anyone asks when this is going to be ingame after everything we've posted, downvote them into oblivion.
Just to be clear, this model is far too detailed for us to put into Sins. This is not the model that will be in the game when we move to Rebellion, but this is a definitive showing of The Didact's ability. Know that the Covenant are in good hands (He's currently working on them)!

Shame the Sins engine can't handle this level of detail, a damn good model.
Can't wait to see it finished.

If you guys can't use it then give it to the Halo Homefront mod.
We don't want hero ships.
Also, we use an engine that's nearly a decade old, what makes sense about us using the ultra high poly model when SOTP can't?
Aside from PoA in Firefight, or was that removed for the new beta? I could see Infinity being a good ship for that. Aside from the fact that its way too big. If it were scaled down would be a different story. As well as I think homefront is during halo 3 so infinity would still be being build/ nearing completion. Infinity would be the equivalent of the Bentusi Harbor Ship in size

You guys should make a mini animation film of a battle to replace the introduction movie when you start up Sins. If you do, please use this fantastic model! =}

From what I have seen the Status and bump up to Peacekeeping vessel for this ship in Halo 4 sounds very much like the plot for SeaQuest...
I almost screamed like a grunt stuck with a plasma grenade when i saw this! Then i saw it wouldn't be in the mod, as it is too detailed, but then still almost screamed. Great job, it really is too bad it is too detailed, but i ask however, what would be removed? the Infinity is the largest UNSC ship ever constructed, and thus, would probably allow alot more detail that say the Charon class frigate?
That mesh is pushing a million polygons, the details would be baked into a texture and applied to a lower-polygon mesh (less than 30,000).
Almost died of joy from this. Its a great looking model, and I hope the Infinity can make it in some how in a different model.

The Didact deserves a lot of praise. This model is incredible, and I'm sure that the new covenant models will be just as beautiful!

My apologies in advance as this is probably a pointless question. Given the status of the Infinity I'm guessing its going to be the UNSC's Titan once it hits Rebellion? Stupid Question aside, Didact this is amazing. I was looking at this in my computer design class and my teacher put it on the main screen. He's a Halo geek and pulled up screens of the released images. He was practically singing your praises. I can't wait to see more of your work!
We intend for the Infinity to be the Rebellion titan for the UNSC faction, or at least, one of the titans available.
Since the Infinity wasnt built for war, does that neccisarily mean there are no weapons on it, or is it going to have some insane passive abilities? One such ability would be to reduce enemy efficiency by 10-30% based on level, while increasing efficiency for allied ships 10-30% (Kotor Battle Meditation in effect), Increased defensive capabilities for the planet whos gravity well its in, And vice versa, Ability to colonize a planet with increased chance of finding a relic (5-20%), and 3 more abilities to which i cannot think of. (knowing it was probably pointless to post ALL of that, i will gladly accept your downvotes.

You need to read books. The Infinity is literally the most capable warship ever built by man. Why would she have Spartan IVs if she wasn't a warship?
plus, the e3 live action trailer has the old guy giving the speech say 'a vessel designed for battle'.

We're not doing the rebel/loyalist thing. It'll just be two different branches of research.
Rebel UNSC= Freelancers.. too bad their flagship was a thanatos, which wouldnt stand a lick of a chance against even a Halcyon. Thats if you want to throw red vs blue logic in, but its non canonical so i would doubt it
