Specialized with a Forerunner weapons core, the ORS is the largest - and most powerful - of the Covenant's many cruiser classes. Armed with 7 Heavy Plasma Torpedo's, numerous Pulse Lasers, Plasma Cannons, and a Energy Projector, the ORS can take on all but the largest UNSC ships.
In game, the ORS will function as a replacement to the DDS in the current public build. Functioning as a colonization vessel earlier on before switching to a mainline combatant in the later game.

Is DDS being moved to a new role?
Yes, DDS will become your dedicated planetary siege vessel. It will, thanks to its massive strike craft compliment and several abilities, specialize in smashing UNSC SMAC walls and then laying the target planet to waste. Don't let that mislead you though, the DDS is still going to be more than capable in Ship-to-Ship combat and fleet engagements.
Awesome! Can't wait for a model to fit the amazing ship that is an ORS (Seriously, as Colony Caps, they're really powerful. Also cheap. #ORSSpamFTW).

I ******* love the fact that you guys are keeping your Covenant design theme going, feels unique while still having a lore-friendly air about it.
And just to pester you guys with a generic question, any progress or plans on tackling your ships with temporary models any time soon? Like the CPV and SDV?
CPV and SDV are still placeholders for the time being, and we have no concrete plans to replace them (though it will happen eventually, that is for certain). CPV has gotten a little bit of love though, it now looks less... er... terrible, and blends into the fleet better. I.imgur.com
