A Halo mod for the critically acclaimed Sins of a Solar Empire, that aims to capture the fast paced intensity of the Halo series.
Long considered the most cushy assignment in the UNSC, being stationed to UNSC Home Fleet was a boring and safe placement which, early in the war, housed many children and relatives of the UNSC's most politically adept admirals. Spoiled brats would be given commissions due to connections within the UNSC and assigned to Home Fleet to keep them out of harm's way, but all that changed when Reach was lost.
A little known fact of the war is that after the fall of Reach nearly a third of all junior officers and ship commanders in Home Fleet were replaced with more competent leaders and technicians, often at the behest of the very individuals who originally helped acquire these comfortable assignments in the first place. With the birthplace of humanity and last sole defensive position left in the UNSC's control at risk, petty issues like favoritism and nepotism were quickly swept aside in order to ensure humanity's survival.

Keelah, nice fleet....though what happen to their light barriers?
What are these light barriers you speak of?
You know hard light barriers....keelah, I don't know what you call them, shields?
We decided to trade shields for extra armor. Someone on the budget comity thought it would be more cost effective.
Well your comity should me spaced..
Just to be clear, the Earth planet type will be available to map builders, but won't be part of the random spawning one normally sees.
"This is Fleet Admiral Harper, we are engaging the enemy!"
Awesome snap:D
Are there going to be other Sol planets?
Yes and No.
negative admiral, form a defensive perimeter around the cluster
can star-basses have the ability "permission to go outside sir" which destroys a covi capital ship instantly.
No.
Is it going to have extra tactical slots so we can make the orbital defence grid?
Huzzah for Scifi...er Cole Protocol for that awesome screenshot

I think you put far too much faith in humanity. History shows that we consistently play petty politics even when it's clear our side is being crushed.
While that is true, we've never faced extinction as a species. I can see this happening out of sheer desperation.
With respect, the story of Halo is of self-sacrifice and putting the needs of the many above the few. This is the concurring theme throughout the series and in every medium. If you don't think humans can do that maybe Halo isn't for you?
"The needs of the many prevail the needs of the few or the single" was a key piece of Star Trek philosofy
When you think about it, you know how after every war theres a baby boom going? I doubt after the human covenant war there really was a boomer generation coming. Mostly everyones husband or wife died in the navy/army defending the inner and outer colonies. Not to mention the ones that died on the halos and shield worlds xD
