Have you guys considered making a live-action movie/webseries with this models? I think Microsoft might seriously consider supporting you if they see the quality of this models and texture's.
Very different skills, films and games require. Much effort, this would be. Very lazy, we are.
IMO the most sensible course would be to donate the models to the community, but that's all between Canada and Annihilater. With Microsoft's attitude, we should be sharing and caring, yet from what I understand the Halo modding community is notoriously rife with hoarders and cutthroats, mostly guarding assets that Microsoft legally has intellectual property rights over. I think our ModDB company is a member of some group that agrees to share assets however, and I know we've made trades and gifted models in the past on a case-by-case basis.
But I wonder if his unparalleled quality would stagnate the selection of Halo ship models. :) No one would need to compete anymore.
After we release the full mod we intend on convincing Anni to allow open access to all the models and assets he's created. Anything Canada and I have control over will definitely be open and share-able.
Any sentence where the words Microsoft and support are both present is a joke. They might seriously consider a cease and desist order after realizing the cash cow they shot in the head by omitting space combat from Halo Wars.
Sorry I'm being a Negative Nancy.
On a positive note, there's always Helljumper if you dig some fan-made Halo live-action with pretty good production value (but IMO a bit of poor acting and a creator with a self-important vibe.) Forward Unto Dawn begins on October 5th as well.
Certainly. But that would entail Microsoft further developing the franchise on PC. Halo sells too many Xboxes for that. Even the Halo 2 PC release was a ploy to market Vista IMO.
i guess that means i will eventually be playing it :)
but then again there is the possibility i wont be able to download it or you wont put it out for public but still released it
As a CGI modeler myself I tip my hat to you. This beauty is both creative, New and yet UNSC to the core. Also, if I may suggest, show this ship exiting Slip space instead of entering it. That would be even more Epic.
That would be really cool too, especially if you had it finish the jump and did a special FX for the jump (that probably wouldn't be in game) but still sound cool.
that is a very nice slipspace effect. Kudos to whoever on your team made it. The supercarrier also looks fantastic.
You can thank Dhoulmegus for most/all of the particle effects in SoTP.
Indeed. He's incredibly talented.
Sweet. No im going to send my ships back and forth just to watch this.

Just a thought.
Why would a bunch of modders who live no where near each other make a live action series?
How about instead of live action how about CGI you've already got most of the resources for the ships
I'm afraid that's a very unrealistic request.

your probably right with that last bit
and space combat for halo wars would be more like HHF than SotP but yeah they shot that one in the head
i like the joke "Any sentence where the words Microsoft and support are both present is a joke."

Like the Smac platforms around the planet
Excellent!

I doubt space combat could be easily be implemented on a console-only game. At least it wouldn't be anything like Sins.

As long as Microsoft doesn't try to pull what NBC did with the BSG mods then I'm not too fussed about no support.
We'll go underground if that happens. We'll release this mod no matter what.
i guess that means i will eventually be playing it :)

You better believe this will end up on The Pirate Bay if worse comes to worst.
It looks like you took the effect straight out of halo legends good job its amazing :)
And next time can you take a screeshot near the sun? I can barely see the ship let alone the details..
wow. friggin' sweet!
is that the UNSC infinity
No, this is a supercarrier constructed prior to the creation of the UNSC Infinity.
im gonna name mine trafalgar
Likewise, always had a fascination with the Trafalgar. Something of a metaphor for the entire UNSC at that time.
Definately
I believe that's what happened to the Nexus BSG mod, they had to stop developing it though. Shame, it had potential.
**** NBC.
I can understand their reasoning behind it. They themselves had released a BSG game and didn't want competition. Still not a nice thing to do though.
Thank you Dhoulmegus!

How about a video of it jumping?
That would be really cool too, especially if you had it finish the jump and did a special FX for the jump (that probably wouldn't be in game) but still sound cool.
It's up already. :)
OH. MY. *******. GOD. DAYUM.
