A Halo mod for the critically acclaimed Sins of a Solar Empire, that aims to capture the fast paced intensity of the Halo series.
Prior to installation, have Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion (SoaSE:R for future reference) installed. If you have played Sins of the Prophets before, delete any previous copies of the mod from your Sins mod directory first. Launch Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion - From the Main Menu, go into Options, mods, and click show mod path; this will create a folder within the SoaSE:R mod directory, allowing for proper installation of mods. Extract the folder in the zip file called "SotP Alpha v.0.81.2" to your Sins mod directory. If your SotP mod folder contains the readme (this document), you've extracted the parent folder of the mod into SoaSE:R's mod folder, and you'll need to pull the further SotP Alpha v0.81.2 mod folder out of it in order for the mod to work. It cannot be nested in extra folders for SoaSE:R to pick it up properly.

SotP 0.81.2 Changelog
- Necessary compatibility changes to work in SoaSE 1.85
- Sahara cloak now lasts 10 minutes, where 1 anti-matter(AM) = 1 minute of cloak (cloak ends when the Sahara is down to 5 AM)
- Sahara's AM regen has been changed and is slower compared to old rate
- Sahara's laser now is useful to light cov/unsc frigates and fighters
- HORNET mine activation radius increased to 1000 from 200. They are now deployed over a larger area than before. Ability cooldown was decreased to 30 from 90 and mine laying count was increased to 7 from 5. Increased mine clearing radius to accommodate the new HORNET activation range.
- Changed Paris armor type to match Halberd/Eion and fixed CRS armor type.
- Minor Covenant patrol ships XP set to zero.
- Re-added Haven starbase renamed as the CDA-class.

Does LAA.exe have to be enabled regardless of playing alone or with others?
The LAA is required to use the mod. It allows Sins to bypass the size requirement to allow for playing additional content over a GB if memory serves. Without it you cannot run the game and will always crash.

Have you consider change for frigates/destroyer supply requirement? At now it is cheaper to get single Halcyon than single Halberd class destroyer. Would it be possible to add Punic ability to carry 4 frigates/destroyers like in case of Infinity? Punic-class has mounting for 4 frigates.
Also there are still things like some of capital ships have been fully upgraded at Lvl 8 of 10. Would you add something to fill this gap of 2 levels?
I made some modifications to your work, in order to make it more balanced in combat against Covenant - currently to defeat Covenant I needed 6-times more ships (frigates/destroyers and light cruisers against similar type of units). ORS is somewhat overkill in some scenarios - 3 capital ships (2x Marathon, 1x Orion) and 5 frigates weren't enough to stop assault of 1x ORS with 2x CPV and 4x CAR. But this is not that bad, since when you get Infinity running, Covies mostly run from battle where I estimate would cause me serious damage (2x AI in team against me, on normal difficulty).

It's supposed to be one sided, it's based off of the Books rather than anything else. Also 2x Marathons, 1 Orion and 5 Frigs shouldn't be enought to stop 1 OR, 2CPV's and 4 CAR's. If you play Halo Fleet battles you will know that ORS is just a miniature CAS and is just a beast.
Could you post roadmap of this mod development? I mean when I can expect to get newer version or something like that.
Do you also plan to add tech tree where I can choose upgrade from e.g. Paris-class to Strident-class, from Hillsborough-class destroyer (like CMA Heracles) to Halberd-class? Would it be possible to make need to unlock higher class of vessel for both Covenant and UNSC?
Do you plan adding new ships for Covies, like Brigantine (carrier), Man O'war (warship), Blockade runner (corvette) and Carrack (cruiser)? You could add things to tech tree like need to develop shields technology, and then upgrades for newer types like SDV, CAR, CCS classes.

Last time I checked they don't have the mod Copy righted, and don't own any of the models from the games, only the ones they developed. Furthermore he isn't distributing his copy, and so what's so "Naughty naughty" about it?

A question though: The new stellar objects added with the patch (or DLC?), are those removed in SotP or has the Forge Editor manifest file simply not been updated with them? I wanted to integrate those in a map I'm working on updating but they don't seem to be available in the dropdown menu for planet type.
If they can be used, could someone point me to a list of the new ones with the strings I have to use to refer to them in a map file?
If they are not present in the Galaxy Forge provided with the mod, than they are not supported by the mod.

Well, I made a personal tweak in a previous release, and again with this one, so I can have my black holes, pulsars, and neutron stars.

When i launch the game it says that laa is not on, i set it up, launch it again, and it still dosent work. i have the mod in the correct folder and i am doing the laa correctly, but it wont work, and i dont know how to fix it
Try uninstalling and downloading it. The MOD works perfectly fine.
i found a fix, if you move the credits, laa.sav file, galactic forge, installation instructions, and the two font folders into your mod folder it works for some reason
nevermind, still getting the minidump error when i click multiplayer, im using windows 10 on 64 bit, please fix with next patch

Yo yo, I made a patch for that by editing the English.Str file. Don't ask me how it works but here it is. Just replace the file Located in the Strings directory of the mod folder.

I had this issue as well, all I did was re-install the game and re-do the LAA through the mod-folder, and it worked just fine.
Anybody else getting some weird loading errors? A few blank white menu screens and instead of planetary rings a blank white square?

How do you play co op
Just downloaded it, put it into the file for mods, did the LAA thing, decided not to work, just loaded as normal sins...suggestions anyone?
pull the SotP Alpha v.0.81.2 out of the SotP_Alpha_0.81.2 folder. the SotP_Alpha_0.81.2 is not the mod but the folder that contains the mod.
I manage to get the mod in the proper folder and manage to get to the main menu but when I launch matchmaking it tells me that LAA was not enabled even after I enabled it, which then tells me I get a minidump error, I have no idea how to get this but any assistance would be appreciated.

Just because you aren't currently smart enough to simply un-nest the mod folder doesn't men the mod is broken ffs.
Try to uninstall and then re-install rebellion, then set the LAA back up. This fixed this issue for me.
Are there any other places to download the mod from? Moddb servers aren't performing the best for me right now.

Hey devs I love the incredible amount of detail put into the mod. However, there is one thing that keeps breaking my immersion within the game; the buggy UI. Granted, it is very slick and changes the feel of the game. However, the resolution doesn't seem to "fit", with various text running off screen and outside of their text boxes (I am playing on 1366x768). Apart from this, the mod is awesome and I hope you keep up the good work.
That's the very minimum possible resolution for the new ui and/or fonts. Any lower and it's impossible to use.
