Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, which puts the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and to provide a balanced and competitive experience.
As my contribution to the anniversary, and the unveiling of the Halcyon(finally), here's some beauty shots of new explosion FX, the Halcyon, and combat between Halcyons, enjoy!
as much as I love this pic and the Halcyon design, I am concerned about how the archer missile pods are arranged under and over the fighter launch bays, probably be best to launch fighters before you fire missiles if u want to avoid friendly fire.
In the books, Keyes noted that the Archers were in rows. While this isn't exact canon, the Archers are arranged in two rows along the hull :P equalling 300 pods. The hangar is also located on the belly of the beast, but service hangars like on the Heavy Frigate, are located in the trench on the Halcyon.
I don't imagine any competant controller would give the go ahead for fighter docking/launching without checking if the missiles were about to fire, likely in a real world/halo situation, fighter control would notify the bridge that something needs to land and the bridge would organise a gap during which it could happen. Though honestly, i doubt any ship would be launching/docking mid-battle unless it was some sort of high priority.
Repairs?
Why would you risk a cruiser mid-battle by opening the hangar's blast doors and turning off all the guns on atleast one side of the ship to repair some fighters?
The hangar is on the underside fool. I repair my fighters mid-battle to keep them alive, anyways. No one else does this?
when i can i will but most of the time i just have the fighters remain next to the bigger ships so they can protect them from the other fighters and the fighters are there for protected from the bigger ships if i feel like it though the fighters will go and fight the larger ships if possible
We're talking about a "real" situation. Or atleast i thought we were.
