Here is an Idea!! If the ship isnt heavily armored enough and most likely its going to be a major target, try adding a reactive armor subsystem that allows the ship to have increased health.

That's a pretty good idea. Could also increase repair rates too

Other mods have done it, and there's a small problem/glitch that I haven't seen a work-around for (yet).

If a ship's subsystem (or research, for that matter) increases its health points, the ship will gain that new health cap immediately but it will need to be repaired up to the new cap - it looks like your ship looses health.

An alternative is to make a subsystem that covers a large surface area of the ship and has a lot of health - normal HW2 weapons don't penetrate subsystems until they're disabled or destroyed, so subsystems can act like additional (and directional) health.

For example, it's not uncommon to attack a Vaygr shipyard and your ships hit the capital ship facility (subsystem) and the main body of the SY doesn't take much damage until that subsystem is destroyed.

why the halo wiki said atlas "Greater than 2800 meters"? while you said it was 1500 meter?

Description

The Atlas-class is a prototype carrier developed to fulfill fleet-wide command organization. At only 1500m long, the Atlas only has one MAC to compensate for hangar space. Because it is not as large as traditional UNSC carriers, the Atlas-class hasn't seen widespread development in the navy and has only recently been put into reproduction after the UNSC created its frontier expeditionary force. Not as heavily armed in terms of ship to ship canons, the Atlas is a support ship and relies on its heavy flak turrets and AAA guns to defend itself from enemy bomber craft. The Atlas is unique in that it can refurbish and rebuild fighters due to its automated hangar bay, making fighter craft virtually available in the field.

The Atlas-class carrier has a very large fighter storage capacity. On small pop games, the Atlas can hold the entire strikecraft force in its hangar (12 units). Likewise, it is also the first ship in HHF to use Homeworld2's subsystem design. Although very bare bones, the Atlas will work similar to the carriers of vanilla, where it utilizes subsystems to buff itself and nearby friendly ships. So far there are only a handful of subsystems, but that is to increase in the near future. If you want to spitball ideas for more subsystems in the comments, feel free to let us know what you're thinking - we want to know.

The current subsystems are as follows:
Fire Control Tower - increases weapon damage and accuracy of nearby friendly ships
Fleet Drive System - increases nearby friendly ship speed and acceleration
Advanced Sensor Array - boosts sensor distance
Fighter Production - allows the Atlas to produce fighters in the field.
