They'll have to add many made up UNSC units seeing at the covenant its way stronger in space. Cool idea though.
Just pointing out that this is a Bungie concept from the HALO art book, not a H:FO one. So apparently Bungie was thinking about placing some of the experimental UNSC tech written in the books* in one or more of the HALO series games.
*Dr. Halsey enumerates some new advances coming out due to captured Covenant technology, shield tech being one of them, in one of the HALO books.
in Halsey's sketch book she says that they have shield technology just not advanced enough for most of the unsc ships cause they are to large. it can be put on fighers such as sabers from halo reach
