Heath Games' Second installment of the Horror Mod series, "Half-Rats". Taking place in July of 1883. Soundtrack courtesy of Ague. Beware, this mod is pretty much NOTHING like Half-Life.
Never engage in unnatural copulation with livestock. Also - this is actual in-game footage of the notes system. There will be letters and hidden items, as well as places to explore all throughout the game. Some necessary, some not.
That look's cool!
Incorporating a notes system in a game that originaly had none? Your guys in the coding department are really doing their job!
This is done with scripting, actually. Didn't want to put any more pressure on the code.
Yup. Poke 646 did something similar. I guess it's the same setup. Note is a large texture in a room with a camera?
Yup! Only the background texture that the letter sits on reflects the surface the letter is found on.
As long as you don't make the player hurtable while they're stuck in the letter, as Poke 646 does (brrr).
Well, they can defo be hurt...but if you're hurt while reading a letter, it's your own fault for reading a letter in the middle of combat. Luckily the first letter you read won't be in a combat situation, you will also be able to recognize a letter from then on, as they are represented by a special model. Additionally, it'll be very difficult to accidentally trigger one.
Nicely done! The letter looks both mysterious and good. Nice texture.
Also a nice idea - this cries for a new example map on TWHL. :P
Nothing fancy but I bet not many think about that except Urby and you ofc. ^^
All of them are done.
Yeah, they are pretty done.
