In a world where HD and UHD packs for a 1998 game no longer make the cut, sprouts a small seed of hope. Half-Life: R will replace all viewmodels with updated versions, based (conceptually) on the default SD- and HD-content, including sounds and animations on a new arm rig. Because I can. It'll be hella rad.
Replaced the lower receiver with a SEF one, and swapped the stock for a more detailed version. Improved the lighting a bit as well. Any last-minute input is welcome.
Is me saying it looks awesome any good as an input? Because it does look awesome.
I love your work!

This looks almost even better than the mp5 in black mesa!
stop you are giving me a awkward boner
Already written here, so thanks taking my suggestion to heart! About the old style slim forearm - yeah I don't know any existing models out there, even finding proper image resources turned out to be quite difficult. I tried to create one for the MP5 in SC a few years ago, but the pattern was difficult to recreate with meshes. Bump-mapping would've probably done the trick, but we're talking about GoldSrc here...
Thanks mate. I don't really care much for the slim handguard per se, and I'm not sure how you'd ("realistically") attach the grenade launcher to it without it looking silly. I think this is a decent enough middle-ground kind of thing.
Looking from the realistic point of view: Not at all. I guess someone at Valve saw Schwarzeneggers End of Days back then and thought it would be quite a good idea to make this abomination happen :) And Valve isn't exactly known to keep close to actual weapon specifications, so yeah, this is quite a nice approach via the middle course!
An MP5SD with a grenade launcher...Never understood the point of putting a silencer on a weapon with a grenade launcher, but this is a great model!
Good luck getting this to work in Goldsource!
nice
