Utterly dire.

It's like every bad decision was put on a must have list when making this "game".

Everything, starting with the obnoxious console menu, messy HUD edits, to combat FX (to be fair - toggleable, in the slow obnoxious menu), to enemies shooting through walls...

...to performance being murdered by every possible string of trash hanged on the ol' engine. Ah yes, we must have CSM in this pointless, dark, blank environment - this'll help a lot! Let's sacrifice 70-100 fps for it!

If it's a joke mod, it's not funny because of how annoying it is.
If it's a serious mod, it didn't spend one day in real playtest.
Huge, unbalanced, bad looking pile of stuff no one asked for.

Ah, and AI voicing. Nuff said.

Exhausting waste of time and bandwidth. And bad ai voices.

At first, this project caused mixed emotions, although it seemed positive. As everything went beyond the menu, this mod turned out to be complete.... .

First of all, optimization, this project looks no better than HL2:EP2, which in turn does not require a powerful computer. Here, on the contrary, there is terrible optimization, graphics are no better than in the 2007 source, unnecessary shaders.

Secondly, this plot is really inaccurate, namely, even the most banal thing, how were you able to play up the death of Eli Vance? In Alex’s dialogue, this was justified as “yes, we thought he was dead, but we found him at the station,” all this sounds funny and more like satire. The dialogues are really too simple.

Thirdly, the mapping is horrible, from the beginning everything was not so bad, at least the geometry of the levels was good, but how the is the gameplay terrible, first aid kits in random places, etc., but the saddest thing is the scripts, it’s easy to do something here not so and you will have to literally push next to the NPC to go back to the corridor and take the battery.

The graphics, and I mean, all these changes seem like they didn't even try. The main character's shadow is actually a nonsense, why didn't you change Gordon's world-model?

Otherwise, there are too many unnecessary graphics changes that, to be honest, don't really improve the picture. I’ll also note that the HUD one is also crooked, they could have made everything at least one color, otherwise it turns out that health/armor/ammo is blue, but the flashlight charge indicator is yellow... Too many words, and the mod itself is a dummy...

I am writing this review to draw attention to the attempt to blatantly give high ratings to mods created by "Ancient Freeman Media".
A person under the nickname CeDean registered his account on November 4, and gave the “mods” of this “team” a rating of 10/10.
If such mods receive a rating of 10/10, then I am afraid for the future fate of Moddb.

Kinda bad,not gonna lie
Should've find better map makers

Sadly an over-ambitious mod, reminds me of my first ever mod I made years ago, and everywhere is just so dark and hard to see.

It suffers from a lot of issues, such as over use of too many visual effects, such as vignette and color correction.

The same battery puzzle is re-used across the whole mod, multiple times, its not a fun mechanic and doesnt add any value to gameplay.

Level transitions are abrupt, and themes all over the place, going from combine walls to wooden buildings.

The mod features a lot of extra visual enhancements such as updated shadows outdoors, but sadly falls flat due to a lot of the environments lacking detail.

Also very weird use of ai/text to speech voice acting for alyx and Eli, its just overall very strange choices, and I dont know what its trying to convey.

I appreciate the enthusiasm though, dont give up on making stuff, just keep in mind to have some quality control for future mods, instead of "Features 6 hours of content" maybe try to aim for "1 hour of compact high quality maps."

Good luck on your future mods.

With the patch attached, the game is completable from start to finish, however you *need* to know when to save to retry some of the NPC sequences multiple times as there is a high chance to softlock.

On top of that, there are a lot of rushed level design choices such as a corridor with just walls and chainlink fences, very cramped hallways and pathways (there's a door that can't even open fully unless it breaks a full, randomly placed table, and there are some random invisible walls due to lamps having huge collision behind them making it feel even more cramped). There's also a section with just trees growing from nearly flat sand ground...

The fighting is alright and well balanced, I really like the chromatic aberration effect upon hit. It's probably the strongest point of this mod.

The lag is horrendous. I tried to stream this game but it's out of the question, GPU jumps straight into 100% in the first map and it doesn't get any better. Sometimes it feels hard to navigate through the mass of props when your FPS is reaching very low on double digits.

The map overuses "hunt this battery". It's been seen in many mods, and it's fine time to time, but if it's your focal point, it gets repetitive. I also complained about the very-hard-to-see & unintuitive levers and valves you need to press, but nothing was done about it. I cannot say unbiased how hard it is to find all of them in current version as I now know exactly where to go, but during beta I was getting annoyed by not progressing in maps where the progress is ought to be obvious.

Despite some of the maps having very bad map design choices, some of them look pretty. But with the constant softlocks, lag, weird AI-voiced character lines, and everything else I cannot give this even a 3 due to it being a 2nd worst mod I have ever played. An attempt was made, but the polish was never done, it's a half-baked mess.

No, like, no.
(also imagine making merch about this mod, 30€ for a t-shirt with a jpg hl3 logo on it, cringe huh ? well they already did this)

I hate battery puzzles

Egrigous loading times and performance ( its a game from 2004)

Horrific deck ui menu and crappy weapon reskins and enemy additions

Drivable apc was pretty cool tho...

Buggy maps and npcs

Very unbalanced (spamming the strongest ******* enemies in the game)

Terrible voice acting

Wtf was that ending

Probably one of the worst Half-Life 2 mods on this site; a total joke. There have to be at least 10 "find the battery" puzzles included just to waste the player's time. Honestly the earlier mods made by this dev were just kind of mediocre but this one is actively malicious to the player.

Also the shaders and filters look pretty bad and make the game chug even on newer hardware. I turned them off but had to deal with graphical issues as a result. Avoid this mod at all costs, it's not even enjoyable in an ironic sense.
