Half-Life 2 Wars: Revolution is a standalone add-on pack for the RTS Source modification, Half-Life 2: Wars. It introduces new units and buildings for which you can create, control, and kill with, including HECU marines, F.E.A.R. Replica soldiers, and even the "Arachnids" from Starship Troopers.

In this news post, we discuss what we could bring to the table as far as new maps, units and buildings goes.

Hello everyone!

Wow, have we gotten a response from the official release of Half-Life 2 Wars: Revolution on ModDB. You all seem to like it, and it is nice to be able to experiment with new units and such that aren't implemented just yet in the original Half-Life 2: Wars. But I believe the big question is, what comes next?

Me and my programmer have decided to cease development on Half-Life 2 Wars: Revolution. At version 1.0, we see that's it done, through, and finished. But, we want to hear your opinion on it.

Should we release a patch for the mod, fixing stuff, adjusting settings, and adding new units, buildings, and maps?

We want to hear YOUR opinion on the matter. But now, we are to discuss what new things we COULD throw into the mod.

A New Singleplayer Skirmish Gamelobby

The current gamelobby in version 1.0 of Half-Life 2 Wars: Revolution is NOT the current version included in Half-Life 2: Wars. The current version looks like this:

We are unaware if we are allowed to put this into the mod, but there's no harm in asking.

New Multiplayer Maps

There is a possibility of us including up to about 4 multiplayer maps into Half-Life 2 Wars: Revolution. Again, I am unaware if we are allowed to do this, as these maps are currently in the current version of Half-Life 2: Wars, but they've around forever. Here are some screenshots of them:

Some interesting maps that you could totally have a blast playing on. We're working on getting permission to use all the assets, and then we can back to you.

Until then, that's all we have to do discuss. Please, track the mod, and comment and tell us what YOU WANT TO SEE!

Download HL2W: Revolution v1.0

Download the materials fix

Download the unit info/spawn commands

Until next time,

Revolution runs off HL2Wars 0.5; and since then the HL2Wars Team declared that anybody can download and play with that source code.

That doesn't excuse anything, but it does bring us one step closer to furthering this old mod's approach to HL2 RTS.

It does run off of v0.5, but the content I am proposing is to add in included later than that. We have to ask.

Do you have Half-Life 2: Episode Two and Source SDK Base 2007 installed and ran at least once? They are both required to run the game successfully.

I as an administrator and manager am not needed on the team, nor do I want to be or care for it. My programmer has applied to be a programmer, I am unaware of the result.
