Half-Life 2: Short Stories is a team working on a group of modifications that take place in the same realm. A lot of the focus is on the story and gameplay, new innovative set pieces and puzzles. After the release of the first episode of Human Error, the team is planning to release more episodes and expand the characters and the world.

Lol, looks like photoshoped the heads in :) I think some things in games can look so real that it's ugly. Take Crysis, it looks like crap. But I dunno..
That is some sort of or exactly "the uncanny valley" if I know right.
I think they are Photoshopped, just look at the left side guy. It seems that his head is just paper thin. (Very bad angle)
Vidra, these are in-game renders... the problem might be that the face textures are very hi res compared to the rest of the body.

Okay, now that I played it an seen the characters from different angles they are not that bad, but Noah has the weirdest eyes EVER.

But yeah, I agree they don't really mix with the rest of the model and they will be updated.
The thing is, we don't even have photoshop. We can't afford it. Just look at the recent News preview picture. We use Microsoft Paint to do our stuff.
have you guys considered using GIMP? It's find for most image editing, and it's free.
I think the main problem is that the face textures are at a near-photorealistic resolution and the rest is not.
