Dark Skies is a total conversion mod that aims to recreate the original story of Half-Life 2 while keeping a fresh feel from the other mods doing the same thing. Almost every thing will be redesigned to have our own touches but still resemble Valve's old concepts. Dark Skies will contain many new enemies, new gameplay and dark and desolate levels.

This is an ordered list of every major location to be featured in the mod, with a basic description of what happens there. Bold locations are the most important.

  • C17 Train
    Station
    - Gordon meets Samuel on the train and Barney in the station.
  • C17 Streets + Factories
  • C17 Apartments
  • Kleiner’s Lab – Gordon meets Dr. Kleiner who tries to teleport him to Kraken Base.
    When the teleportation fails, he tells Gordon he’ll have to go to Eli’s by
    foot.
  • Sewers
  • Manhack
    Arcade
    – Gordon sneaks (mostly) his way through the Arcades. While here he
    leads some Manhacks into where the citizens are; causing them to see that they
    were never playing a game.
  • Canals

  • Eli’s Den – Gordon finally reaches Eli. Here he receives the Gravity Gun and is given a
    briefing on the mission that the resistance have chosen for him.
  • Ravenholm – After leaving Eli’s, Gordon makes his way through a zombie infested town.
  • Wastelands – Gordon makes his way through a ravaged and ashen landscape.
  • Quarry Town – small town (not Ravenholm anymore) in the wastelands.
  • Wastelands/Ocean Floor – In the middle of his journey
    through the wastelands, Gordon came to the coast, only to find a dry ocean floor.
  • Depot – Gordon comes upon a large Combine train depot. He breaks in and catches a
    train.
  • AirEx Perimeter/Crash Site – Gordon meets Alyx and Skitch here. They are met with Elite Combine forces (Synth Elites and Super Soldiers) and striders.
  • Air Exchange – Gordon and Skitch enter the massive Combine Atmospheric Reprocessing Plant. Here they come across a group of conscripts who lead them to Captain Vance (and more conscripts) who
    tells him to retrieve the Air Exchange’s programming information from the
    Reactor Control Room.
    After destroying the main reactor, they work their way out.
  • Wastelands – Gordon, Skitch, Cpt. Vance and his conscripts meet Alyx outside the Air Exchange. From there they head to a rebel base on the new coast.
  • Rebel Coastal Base - Shortly after arriving, Gordon, Alyx (and Skitch), and Captain Vance split up and head north by Helicopter. Gordon
    has to bring the AirEx Programming Chips to Kraken Base.
  • Borealis – After being shot down and crashing on an ice burg, Gordon meets Odell aboard
    a rebel ship that has been infested with Sackticks.
  • Kraken Base – Gordon and Odell take a submarine to an underwater rebel base. Upon
    entering, they find that it too has been infested with Sackticks. Parts are
    even flooded and filled with xenian life forms. After working through the
    infested part of the base, he meets Dr. Helena Mossman and some rebels in an undamaged
    area. When Combine troops attack the safe part of the base, Mossman reveals that she works
    for the Combine.
  • Arctic wasteland – Gordon travels by foot through the frozen landscape, climbing cliffs and fighting Combine along the
    way.
  • Weather ControlFinally, Gordon meets up with Alyx, her father and the conscripts, and continues to the
    Combine Weather Regulation Dome. There they fend off waves of Combine before
    leaving for a nearby rebel base.
  • Rebel Base – Gordon, Alyx and Skitch take a jet back to City
    17 to bring the AirEx Programming chips to Kleiner.
  • Skyscraper – After crashing the jet, Alyx gets captured, leaving Gordon and Skitch to
    fight their way through City 17.
  • C17 Rooftops – Gordon and Skitch meet up with
    Barney who takes them to a rebel outpost to contact Captain Vance about Alyx’s capture.

  • Combine Factories – Gordon and Skitch sabotage the C17 Factories.
  • C17 Streets
  • Citadel Gordon learns of Captain Vance’s capture
    and fights his way into the Citadel. Here Gordon meets the Consul, who is
    slowly turning himself into a cyborg, and has to destroy his life support system.
