Description
Proper walls have been made, with several upgrade-linked visuals available.
These are the Galactic Empire walls.
Are those the palisade equivalent? (or whatever the base wall is called)
This is are Light Walls, which can be upgraded to Medium Walls (age 3), then to Heavy Walls (age 4), then to Shielded Walls (age 5).
That central building looks small in scale
Might just be the camera perspective, that, or the towers are too big in scale. It is the same scale as vanilla Town Centers

looking good, an imperial outpost with self-sufficient food production and well guarded, with research center and official post as well from what I see
Wonder if they still cost wood
They do. But now we name Wood as Materials, which besides being fancier, can also include other resources that are not wood, like Carbon and Ore.
