The masks texture will be adjusted for better matching the helmet in question. This also means you will see much less compared to vanilla. The previews will help you compare.

It is still wip but all helmets are already adjusted. Progress is paused for now, but its good enough to let you give it a try.

You had a good idea in practice -- to more closely match the textures with their in-game shapes -- but as the other posters have noted, you have two fundamental problems.

1) The eyeslit is at "eyebrow" height. The eyeslit should be dead centre in the screen, since that's where the eyes are coming from.

2) The helmet overlay is far too distant from your face. The textures you've provided are the equivalent of holding the helmet a good foot or so from your face, whereas in reality the helmet is barely two inches away.

I think you could easily fix this: just blow up the images and centre the eyeslits, and you'd be onto a fantastic mod idea.

Addendum: Try small increases at first until you get the right "feel" for your mod. You want something that close to be a little blurry and a little indistinct, but you don't want to go so far that it just turns out to be identical to vanilla. Heh.

Dude have you ever actually WORN a helmet? This is not immersive, this is retarded. The only way it would look like this is if someone literally put these in front of your eyes like that, human eyes don't work like that IRL. Yes, the really narrow eyeslits on some helmet limit your FOV a bit, but nowhere NEAR this, seriously just... look it up or try for yourself by making one from cardboard?
