Forgotten Hope Secret Weapon (FHSW) is an unofficial continuation of the famous Forgotten Hope (FH), a Battlefield 1942 modification. We say unofficial since FHSW is developed by FH fans, not the original FH creators. In 2007 it started as a small addon but since then it has grown to be one of the biggest mods of all time! What makes this mod special is that it adds lots of - but not only - Secret Weapons which saw limited or no action at all during WW2 like jet fighters and super heavy tanks. Some of the maps feature "what-if" battles like a landing operation on the Japanese mainland or attacking a secret German base in the African desert.

Didn't they had a 88 mm cannon? Or is this a version I've never heard of?

Yes the standard "KingTiger" (Sd.Kfz.182 Pzkpfw.VI Ausf.B) produced from november 1943 till march 1945 was armed with the 8.8cm KwK 43 L/71.
This one was a special project to arm the Kingtiger with the 1.10cm longer
10.5cm KwK L/68, but none were build.

In FHSW you can find it on the map SpringAwakening 1945
This model is based upon the Kingtiger model from Forgotten Hope mod.

Would you be refering to the E-75?

This special version of the Kingtiger has nothing to do with the E-75, which would be just the E-50(panther-successor) with thicker armor and the 128mm cannon from the Jagdtiger

I dunno, the only reference i can find to what you're talking about is the e-75. What i'm reading says it was going to have the 105? And the image they've provided looks more like a king tiger.

Nevermind, i found the version you were talking about. Though there are a variety of sources on the e-series, there were alot of different verisons of each tank.

The gun is insanely long. 105mm gun is supposed to be long as half of this, maybe even shorter.

Nope, the cannon was exactly that large in real life. Or, it would have been. That "l/68" means that the barrel was 68 calibers long, several meters. The breech and everything was larger so the cannon wound up sticking further out of the turret. That's why it looks longer than the 8.8 cm KwK 43 l/71.

Is it just the perspective or is the gun really that long?
