Mapping progress
The map is beatable from start to finish. However, several portions are missing details, monsters, and overall functionality. The main problems I'm currently facing are figuring out what more I can do to the level without having repetitiveness.
Since the map is in ZDoom in Doom format and not UDMF, there are a few monster-death triggers that need to be added in via ACS coding. I will be bringing in outside help for this during the beta-testing stage, which brings me to the next update.
Post-mapping plans
Once this map is finished, I have a few beta testers to help give unbiased feedback and help me find out what needs to be fixed. I will not be accepting any beta testers from ModDB, Doomworld, or Facebook unless I actually know you. I will make a short update on beta testing once it starts.
I will be bringing in outside help for the ACS coded monster triggers during the beta testing stage. First of all, I don't know the first thing about ACS coding, but I figured it can't be too hard. Second, converting the map to UDMF format would ruin all of the triggers I've got set up. Also, the last time I tried to convert between the two formats, it corrupted some of my sectors for some reason. So I'll just be sticking to Zdoom in Doom format.
After beta testing and ACS coding, I will be refining the map through suggestions from my testers and my own ideas. There are quite a few bland areas of the map that need to be redone or added to, so there's that.
Name change
Because I've had so many people ask if it's a Terry, I've decided to change the official name of the wad to Hell's Incursion. I will still include the original name in the title, but leave it out of the ModDB page and actual wad name.
Music change
When I had originally started making the map and advertising on the Doomworld Facebook group, I had intended on using South of Heaven - Slayer as the music track. However, since this violates the rules of the Doomworld idgames wad archive, I will probably be using a metal version of E1M8 or something else similar. Feel free to leave suggestions for this as well.
Conclusion
So the map has quite a ways to go in terms of being finished, but I can see its completion before this fall, hopefully. Be sure to follow for more short updates, screenshots, and other various media in the near future.
