actually i use a technice for editing the level where i have moved the vegetation array out of the cry file and keep only the exported version in a additionally pak file, which is then loaded seperately in full game.
that save me 100mb in editor which helps a lot.
(sometimes 10 mb can make the difference between /can save the map / all work is gone... can't save....)
The scenery looks like Battlefield 2. :D
Not really. Here it's much better in my opinion. Maybe you mean with some mods, but even with most of the mods Battlefield 2 doesn't look this good. Maybe PR, FH or some similar mod can have this kind of graphic. However, this is not on ultra settings.
You misunderstood me. I meant the atmosphere, the look and feel. I think that this atmosphere is like from the "Dalian Plant" map in BF2.
The 64-player version of the map has the Red Team spawn where the environment reminds me of this. :)
BF2 doesn't have these cool customisable terrain shaders. BF2 doesn't have such cool customisable particle effects. And the water of BF2 is lame compared to Far Cry 1. But I didn't mean the graphics.
Funny thing is, in Far Cry 1, I get more fps on high compared to BF2 on lowest. XD
this screenshot is done with texture setting "high", (very high and ultrahigh are also availible), also the terrain is rendered in 1k resolution, for release i will rerender it in 4k.
Admir: I see.
Actually BF2 with some mods can have amazing particles like the Project Reality mod (which is a standalone for some time, but it has that particles even when it was a mod so it counts).
The BF2 overall doesn't have that good shader, which is a reason why it would be great if there would be some shader mod.
Really? I was thinking that you would get more FPS in BF2 instead of Far Cry.
Pvcf: Wow! I'm looking forward for that!
Lol. People in my country often miscall me Admir instead of Admer. Imagine if I called you Marik instead of Marek. :3
Yesterday I managed to run BF2 at 64x64 and 192x144. Basically, the framerates were the same. :(
I'm sorry, but originally I wrote Admire instead of an Admer and somehow I wrote Admir. I'm using an online grammar checker since I can't write some things which could be written by an English keyboard. And I know that I could change it into English one, but since I can use this program I don't need to.
And I was thinking that BF2 was overall well optimized.

yeah, i can't render inbetween in another resolution, one you done this, you can't paint anymore landscape textures. there is a bug in cryengine which simply shows no effect :D
only deleting the whole pak file helps then.
also rendering in 4k need ages in comparison to 1k.
note: the terrain are 8 layers, 8 images layered over eachother, rendering them in 4k need endless ram and time, but i think in the 64bit workspace i can do this actually :D i will also try a 8k rendering and see what happens (and if its worth the effort)
8k? I'm not sure if that's a good idea since 4k is good enough and it will probably crash a lot.
yeah, will see :)
i'm also inbetween a little familiar with crytek export pak format and there are also ways with different pak's which probably would allow to have different sets of such packages (but this would mean a game restart with automatic copying pak files in the levelfolder)
