After neglecting this page for quite sometime I've decided to clean everything up a bit. The biggest change is that I've moved GES to a newer version of SweetFX. This should allow it to be used on all versions of FC2. (Including the Steam Fortune Edition!) I've removed a bunch of old comments regarding technical issues as they should be fixed. Just make sure you have your game running on DirectX 9.

A common complaint about GES in the past is that the game is too dark with the mod installed. This is due to the nature of FC2 and the method I've used to create this mod. The default brightness, contrast, and gamma settings can look a bit wonky even on properly calibrated monitors. I suggest tweaking these values in-game until you achieve your desired result. Personally I only need to bump gamma up a bit and then everything looks fantastic. However, everybody's results will differ. Just experiment!

I've also re-cut the original trailer which you can view below.

I hope you enjoy the mod and your time spent in colorful Africa!

This mod or "injector" will remove the original dull tint the vanilla game has making it look much more natural and life-like.

Am I the only one who can't find a DL button?
A little hint would be appreciated, thanks.

Has DX9 always been the requirement? Installing this for a replay it caught me off guard.
I'm almost certain that my last playthrough using GES was DX10 and it worked fine. Am I making stuff up or was there a compatible version?

This mod doesn't give the same effect like on the screenshots. On the screenshots trees are green with the grass and fire more red/orange. In the game, trees are default, grass the same and fire only brighter, but not like on the screenshots. I tried to configure brightness, contrast and gamma but it doesn't do anything. In the end, i wanna say that the mod is fake. It only makes image sharper, but everything else are default. And screenshots for this mod was edited in photoshop.

The game is working fine for me after adding this mod,it could just mean you will have to back off all your settings to half way for everything and switch off all the fancy lightings and blooms and try again and if it works then you can work your settings back up 1 or 2 at a time. Also you may want to check that you are using DX 9,it wont work with another.

Thank, but I know how to fix it. you have to copy d3x11.dll and dxgi.dll from your system 32 to your FC 2 directory.

that does not work, default windows files do not load sweetfx/enb, if you use them the game might look fine but those mods will not be active
