How to Create a EoC Server? | Locked | |

First and foremost: the mod is freaking amazing! Well done. Is there any kind of a step-by-step guide on creating an internet EoC IV server? I cannot seem get it running on the internet but LAN games are working fine. Here is what I have tried. -Created Windows firewall exceptions for serentysabersystems -Forwarded ports on my netgear router to these specifications: Findports.com -Lowered the value of server static internal ip: 192.168.x.102 (it was at 192.168.x.2) -Using console command to connect to the server after it is running (Example: "/connect XX.XX.XX.XXX:port") The game does not show in the server browser either. -Attempted connecting client from a different WAN IP, different computer as well. -Server is running on Windows 8.1 64-bit and client was Windows 10. The client connection is not forwarding any specific ports. -Client EXE is running as administrator. Update: 01/19/2016 Good news! I got the server showing in the Internet tab of the in-game browser. It was a combination of issues. My router is connected to a modem which also server as a router. I put the modem in bridge mode and added DMZ filtering to my actual router with the internal IP address specified. The issue I am having now is joining the internet MP server itself with a client. When the game finishes loading, after the 'awaiting gamestate' screen, the game crashes to desktop when loading is at 100%. I am trying to acquire crash logs but cannot seem to find any. The server itself crashes intermittently and disconnects from the master servers often. Resolved: 01/20/2016 I can host servers and the client does not crash when joining. I had a server up for 2hrs yesterday with a couple of joins. Game does crash for client on map load and I am sure this is related to running JKA with widescreen resolutions, but the server can be rejoined. I resolved the recent spat of crashing by reinstalling JKA with default configuration and installing EoC + patch from vanilla. I was able to join and play for a long duration without crashes. I believe I had messed up one of the .cfg files in my efforts to correct the issue Edited by: TheRusski |
