Hi I cant seem to get a dedicated server to host on Internet. I can host locally just fine, but even forwarding my ports didnt seem to resolve the issue. Is there something I need to change in the config file to get this to work? There arent enough servers up for this awesome mod! |

All you should need to do is run the .bat file to create a server. If the server isn't visible outside of your network then you need to look at port forwarding or opening up your firewall. If it still isn't working then I don't know what to suggest other than making sure that you've setup the right port ranges and configured everything properly. There isn't anything in the .cfg file you need to enable to make the server available outside of your LAN, the .cfg file contains settings for things like number of bots, game modes, etc. |

Ok. So here I must say something. I guess that since this is a game still in development, and without having a single coin for your job, we can't really ask you for hosting a server for us if you don't want to. I understand that if you want a hosted server, that needs money, and you have 0 money to spend on this right now. |

The classes are balanced once you learn the traits, for example, tall characters with high health can be defeated easily by crouching when you attack them so that you can swing under their standing block area. This is something we'll keep looking at in future updates though, and the more we play, the more we'll learn about the balancing issues. In terms of a dedicated server, yeah that would cost us money potentially, but I'll look at maybe hosting one myself. Other than that, it might be asking around different clans to see if they'd host the server - there are some pretty dedicated communities out there that might be willing to use one of there servers for EoCIV. It's worth an ask! Maybe try JAWA Clan? |

Well, while that powerhouses are fine, I think that you should limit the styles they can select. It's pretty ridiculous to see vader with blue style. I still feel some things should be polished. I still have to give you my ideas about the Forms and how they could modify classes, giving more deepness to the game. And MOST IMPORTANT, is pretty strange thing to see red style used. Why? Because it's all about timing and fast attacks. I don't even know if Force Points get depleted when parrying/blocking (opposed to gunners, which deplect you pretty fast the FP). I don't know if you still do, but in EoC III, the styles had different bonuses that encouraged a different gameplay with each one. I don't know if they are still working on this version, but if they do, It'd be nice. I still have some ideas appart from that, but they might need to rebuild some things of the sabersystem inner behaviour. |

Hey everybody. I've only just looked at modding jedi academy and This looks like a fantastic mod that I really want to get into on multiplayer. I was a dedicated server host on byond for 6 months at a time. I've managed to install the mod and host a server but I have no idea about how to change maps among other things. I also have no idea how to change the max number of players. If you guys can help me with these little things then I would gladly host a 24/7 server till other arrangements are made |

kairu99877 wrote: That would be amazing if you could. The "Evolution_of_CombatIV_Server.cfg" file is where you can change all the server settings. Most things are kinda self explanatory, e.g. sv_maxclients is the number of max players, sv_hostname is the hostname for the server, etc. To change the number of bots (so if there aren't many people on the server someone can still join and play against the A.I.) you can change the bot_minplayers value for each gamemode. Hope this helps, if you need any more info just let me know. |
