Dain, son of Nain, King under the Mountain during the War of the Ring. A playable hero of the Erebor subrealm. This model combines many different styles and ideas to achieve the look of an aged yet recognizable Dain Ironfoot.
Kingly details like the crown, shield, fur coat and golden armor are a reference to King Thrors royal armor as seen in the Hobbit movie at the Battle of Azanulbizar. But unlike Thror we wanted Dains armor to be a bit lighter, more "ceremonial". The iron boots, beard ornaments and Billy Connollys face are the consistent parts to Dains younger self. Additionally we decided to use red as a secondary color in his armor and give him his famous axe (as beautifully designed by Weta Workshop) to represent Dains past as lord of the Iron Hills. Even as King of Erebor our Dain hasn't forgotten his roots.

Old Dáin, royal armour and the famous red axe, very well made and lore accurate concept :)
The 'Iron Hills concept' of Dáin is basically based on his concept of BOTFA, while this one comes from the pure lore; this means that it's possible to find a harmony and a balance between the elements of the films (both LOTR and The Hobbit) and the ones of the books, and the Edain Mod succeeds in it :)

They anusted it to be one handed and I am fine with that I always liked more one handed weapons and I love what they have done!!! :-)
Well it still is as big as a two handed battle axe, but Dain is just such a badass that he doesn't care. :D
