Actually no, Wights were supposed to be "evil spirits" from Angmar and Rhudar.

But the skins can stay :).

The Barrow-Wights were evil spirits, true. But they animated the corpses of the dead and clearly had a physical form, as Frodo cut off a Wight's hand. Therefore, they likely did not appear as ethereal spirits, but in some form of body. At least, that's our interpretation of it, Tolkien is always a bit vague about the different kinds of undead in Middle-Earth.

I agree , Wights were physical similiar to Nazgul , both were called Wraiths, and both were existant in a physical sense but also in a spiritual sense ( Wights put a 'sleep' on frodo and his party, and Nazgul have enhanced senses).

speaking of 'Sleep' is there an ability to have them KO heores ? (not Kill)

They did not only reanimante the dead, the spirits entered the dead corpses and took control over them. They are just using the body for a physical form, when the body is broken they can leave it and take over a new one. Unless they are banished like Tom Bombadil did with the one in the book.

That is true. Tolkien is clear on what the types of undead. Barrow-wights are dead bodies and armour inhabited by spirits (evil Maiar without form it seems). Ring-wraiths have their life stretched out indefinitely by the rings. Army of the Dead were cursed (but the curse didn't do anything), it seems that Iluvatar extended their life. Apart from that once a human is dead in Middle-earth they are dead, but Sauron has ways of torture.

Not true, Barrow Wights were dunedains too, for example the last prince of Cardolan, who inprisoned Frodo and the rest in his tomb.

He was completely dead at the time, it would of only been his armour and old bones that were used by a spirit to have a shape.
(I don't want people getting the wrong ideas.)

Whoa amazing skills but maybe you could also make some changes in the game code(I mean units behavior and such)like they did in F.O.K. or bfme isnt that modable?

What do you mean? We changed a lot of things in this game, not just the graphics.

Hm maybe add new animations for units like blocking because troops only attack during combat, improve AI,give the units bigger randomisation or add more researches? plus in my opinion the buildings should be bigger and units smaller it would make the game more realistic.

New animations are a very difficult matter, but we do have some units and heroes with entirely new animations. There's also a better AI, more than twice as many units as in the original game (many of them with a lot of randomization - Mordor Orcs, for instance), and tons of new spells and technologies. Edain is much more than just new graphics :)

Any work on having units just run around taking damage ? cause having them just run through is annoying.

Whether these models will be in the 3.6 version? I think (and many others) that you used the descriptions in the book very well and transfer them to the game and that is what is lacking in the original game. People from EA could learn a lot from you guys, and it's not a compliment but the truth.Just keep it up and good luck.

Thanks for the kind words :)

Yes, all models you can see on this page will be included in the upcoming version 3.6. And we haven't shown you half of the new stuff yet, it's going to be a massive version :D

Description

Tolkien described the Barrow-Wights as the animated remains of fallen Dunedain, so they have been remodeled to better fit that image.
