Dystopia is a is a total conversion of the Source Engine that places players into tense combat situations in a high-tech world spanned by computer networks. As Punks or Corporate Mercenaries, players will fight through the physical world to gain access, via Jack-in Points, to cyberspace. Cyberspace is a three dimensonal representation of the world's network. In cyberspace, players must fight off enemy hackers and launch programs to gain control of critical systems and to affect the physical world. Gameplay progresses through inter-linked physical and cyberspace objectives, and players must work together to achieve victory for their team. Players will be immersed in action-packed battles, whether as a heavily augmented combat mercenary armed to the teeth with the latest in firepower and cybernetic implants, or as a twitch-reflex cyberdecker racing to infiltrate a cyberspace node.

Over the weekend members of Team Dystopia and the testing team piled into my house for a development LAN. The focus of the weekend was play testing and bug squishing. A lot of work went into detailing and touching up sections of Termi's map, Dys_Vaccine. Caliban also spent time creating custom animations for our nifty movement system, as well as setting up environment maps for the character models. While Bioxeed was treating our ears to a taste of his latest Dystopia track, I hammered through a bunch of php code to generate even more stats from the server logs. The stats system piggy backs onto the excellent code Epicar has written to dump out all sorts of interesting information at the end of each round.

To celebrate the success of Dystopia Dev LAN #4, we have two new wallpapers. The first was painted by DaaDaa and shows off the Corporate Medium model. The second is a high quality render of Church's Punk Medium model.

Also for your viewing pleasure is an in game screenshot snapped during last night's playtest session:

Thanks for the comments guys. Just to let you know, the weapon shown in the screenshot is our shotgun. It packs as much wallop as the model suggests it does.

This is one of the fastest projects I have ever seen, while most other TC's for HL2 are twidling thier thumbs, you guys have a playable version, and by the looks of things, a fine one at that.
