Have you considered using the templar archers model from inquisition? That would fit much better it seems odd to give archers full plate this is just my opinion of course do what you will with your mod

As far as I'm aware, the Templars from Inquisition have the same overall look, and the Templar Order overall generally has it's soldiers wear heavy armor, which furthermore, is not even full plate. If you need a reminder as to what full plate is in Dragon Age, take a look at Massive Armor from Origins. Not to mention that these men are still fully-initiated knights of the Order, just armed with bows and in slightly lighter armor.

If you mean the open helm from Inquisition, that could possibly be used, but keep in mind that Templars with ranged weapons in both DA:O and DA 2 still had the same closed helmet. Later on I might give them an open face helmet, but I will need to make it first.

No no the robe look that they wear in inquisition the templar archers specifically and exclusively wear those robes in game

That was merely a generic Chantry robe from DA 2 repurposed in Inquisition. Templar Knights do not wear that according to the lore in battle, only during vigils and ceremonies. Inquisition had some lore inaccuracies at different points in terms of armor and uniforms due to changes in BioWare's design teams and lore writers.

If Templar Archers wore generic, unprotected Chantry robes in battle with no armor, heck, even if they had chainmail underneath, they'd be slaughtered. These men are fighting mages and demons which can hurl dangerous spells that would burn Chantry robes to a nice crisp.

Also, look up how Templar Archers in DA 2, DA:O, and HoDA were designed. All have the same Templar Archers in partial plate armor. I might give them a lighter helmet later, but I will need to model such a helmet first.

Yes, since both of those units are militia tier. Chantry Armsmen will have some light armor, but the Initiates are just in their robes :-)

We could always use a hand with 2D since there's still some tedious work to be done there. Send me a PM or join the mod's Discord if you might be interested in helping with that.

Unrealistic though and the inquisition model would allow for more freedom like different faces and hairs for the models so its not the same guy copied in plot

Description

Most Templars prefer to engage the foes of the Chantry in melee, where their powers can be brought to bear more readily and since mage and demon alike can at times be more vulnerable up close, however, the Templars are not without an archery-specializing arm of their order. Companies of Templar Archers have much experience with their longbows and arrows, using these weapons to strike the foes that melee-fighting Templars cannot easily reach, destroying demons or maleificarum from afar before devastating spells can be cast by them. All Templar Archers furthermore carry a small number of specialized arrows known simply as "Andraste's Arrows", which are coated in a poisonous powder which can cause mages to become stunned upon impact, and unable to focus on their spells. However, these arrows are hard to come by, and as such, Templar Archers would do best to use normal arrows against non-mages.
