Awesome-looking! Love to see the games' designs realized in M2TW. Also really nice touch to add the Templars into the battalion, gives a sense that they're the mages' "handlers"

Description

Proudly presenting the Circle Mages, available at Circles of Magi to Ferelden, Orlais, Antiva, Kirkwall, Starkhaven, the Anderfels, Nevarra and Rivain. The Circle Mages likewise have faction-specific textures, so that their appearance reflects the culture and ethnicity of the faction which trains them.

Description:

The Andrastian Chantry's views on magic are officially described by the verse "magic must serve man, and never rule over him", therefore, all individuals born with magical talent are required by the laws of the Chantry to be taken at any age to the Chantry-controlled Circles of Magi. As a result of the percieved sins and the tyranny of the ancient Tevinter Magisters, and because of the ever-persistent risk of possession by the demons of the Fade, to whom untrained mages are like a meal left out to a starving wanderer, the mages are viewed with suspicion and mistrust by the common Andrastian folk of Thedas at best, and at worst, persecuted and killed before their unnatural powers, viewed by some as a "curse", bring destruction for those around them. Within the Circles of Magi, guarded by the Templar Order, mages across Thedas may enjoy relative safety and serenity in exchange for their freedom and liberties, practicing their arts under Templar and Chantry supervision, the intensity of which often differs between Circles.

Yet Circle Mages inevitably come to resent their life of seclusion and fear, chafing under the weight of frequently strict Chantry control. All mages of the Circle are forced by the Templars to undergo the Harrowing, a magical test of wits taken mostly in the Fade, a test at which many apprentices fail. However, those who pass the Harrowing are considered full members of the Circle, and whenever summoned by a nation's monarch, or by the Chantry itself, the Templars and the First Enchanter of a Circle will allow those trustworthy and skilled enough to join the fray of battle, where their powers are versatile and of great use.
