Gameplay changes addon, read below to see what's changed or for instructions.
This addon tightens the shotgun's spread, makes it so it's possible to kill Cyberdemon using any weapon other than Soulcube, attaches a flashlight to the Pistol and makes Imp eyes glow in the dark. It used to be a part of the main download but is now a separate optional addon instead.
Extract one of (or all of) the files in this .zip to your "Doom 3/base" folder to install it.
To make the Pistol flashlight work with ROE extract its file to "Doom 3/d3xp" folder.
v0.6 Changes:
- Split imp eyes glow and shotgun spread into 2 separate files that can be loaded individually and independantly from one another
v0.5 Changes:
- Faster Cyberdemon moved to gameplay changes addon, so it's not completely lost.
v0.4 Changes:
- Updated to work with v3.4c and beyond.
Really cool
This is great, but I have a problem. I can't for the life of me get the gameplay changes addon to work. It's in the base folder with the main file, and I see glowing imp eyes so I know SOMETHING is registering, but it doesn't seem like many other features are actually working for me. Shotgun still loads 2 at time and spreads normally.
I'm having the same problem.
What you saw in that video is an old version of the shotgun mod, back then the damage was absurdly high that any enemy would get killed in 1 shot, I reduced the damage to compensate for the tighter spread, and cut the 1 at time reload when I did this.
However, I just re-uploaded the gameplay fixes addon again with the default damage value, re-download it and see if it changes anything. Make sure to put it in "Doom 3/base"
can i get a comparison of the spread before and after?
i just change the script and increase the damage back to normal, now the shotgun is kinda OP
how did u do this?
Does with work with BFG Edition?
Nope, vanilla Doom 3 only
Hi, I ran into some issues with this add on, and the newest version of D3EE 3.4c. The crosshair mod doesn't seem to work with the base game anymore, the pistol flashlight doesn't work with RoE, but both work fine on Lost Missions.
The crosshair used to work with the base game before 3.4c.
I am using Dhewm3.
Thanks for your time and take care.
Thanks for letting me know, I updated it, I just needed to rename the files. To make the pistol work with ROE you need to copy its file to "d3xp"
More and Random monsters \(ÂșuÂș)/ this works amazing!
Quick question: What do the individual files do?
I'm assuming the improvements_pistol gives the pistol the flashlight, the improvements_cyberdemon lets you shoot it till it dies, and the improvements_crosshair changes the crosshairs somehow. I want to play through the game with the standard shotgun so I can learn to hate it like everyone else haha. Does the improvements_gameplay file just change the shotgun and the imp eyes? Would it be possible to have a file for each individually? Guess I'd love to play with the imp eyes glowing since it would be a little easier to see them and add to the spook factor, but I don't necessarily want to mess with the spread of the shotgun. No pressure, though, I love the mod regardless
Hi, that's pretty much correct, except the cyberdemon addon also makes cyberdemon move and shoot a bit faster.
improvements_crosshair changes the look of the crosshair to resemeble a more traditional "+" crosshair like those used by other contemporary games, I just updated the addon to split imp eyes glow and shotgun spread into 2 separate files that can be loaded individually, re-download and you can choose which ones to load.
Thank you so much!
Edit: Just wanted to let you know that the glowing-eyed imps as a separate file is working perfectly so far. Thanks again!
Hey there revisiting doom 3 and your mod seemed perfect, however are you aware of any flashlight mods that are compatible with yours? I like the pistol add-on here but it removes the muzzle flash effect. All the other ones seem incompatible from what I can tell when loading up in dhewm3
