I'm a little confused by all the config files. Do I need all of them or just one?

Technically none they are used to change various graphical settings

So what do I do with them then? Also how do I install this? I put them in the maps folder but nothing happened.

While in game with console type exec config file in order to execute it or just delete them if they are bugging you

Just put the folder in the game's folder and either use the launcher to load it or run it from command line with "+set fs_game"

just extract the folder inside the game's folder and use +set fs_game_base command or set it as a mod base on the CDL.exe

So I've put HiDef###.resources files into base/maps folder and set the shortcut properties as
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DOOM 3 BFG Edition\DoomBFA.exe" +set fs_game_base

but nothing changes. I dont see any new hi-rez textures in Doom I.

Please explain it like I'm 5.

*Just put the folder in the game's folder - I got this!

*and either use the launcher to load it -what launcher? how do I use said launcher to 'load it?'

*or run it from command line with "+set fs_game" - command line? do I type "+set fs_game" somewhere? does typing into something 'run' it?

I really appreciate the effort you've put into this and I am excited to try it, but we are not all regular modders. Can you maybe list out the steps? Make a video?

The launcher is the CDL.exe that comes with DOOM BFA. The launch argument can be used by running the game from the command line or the Powershell.

Ok, for the life of me I can't figure out how to load the hi-def mod with the launcher. I put the hi-def folder into the bfg edition folder, opened the launcher, and selected the hi-def mod for both the mod and mod base section, and whenever I start the game I can't see any noticeable change in graphics. Could someone give me a simple, step-by-step, folder-by-folder, file-by-file installation process? Cuz this is driving me absolutely crazy
