Welcome to "Des Mannes bester Freund" which is a standalone modification for Spear of Destiny based on Wolf4SDL. It is heavily inspired by mods such as "Hundenberg", the "Operation: Mutant Strike" series or "Operation: Hundscheisse".
The mod takes place some years after World War II and the story is as follows:
You are Robert Moore, a.k.a. One-eyed Fox, one of BJ's closest friends. You are sent on a mission to eliminate a terrorist group known as "Des Mannes bester Freund" which is german for "Man's best friend". Allegedly some mercenaries formed this group with the assistance of former german scientists. Their base of operation is located on a secret island somewhere on the Pacific Ocean. The group has kindapped scientists and dogs as well for experiments currently unknown. Your job is to find out what they have up their sleeves, neutralize any hostiles and blow up their laboratory, "C.H.I.M.E.R.A.". It can be reached from two routes: a shorter one which is heavily guarded and is basically the main entrance to the labs, and a longer one where they are transporting wares to the lab from a small fortress through a secret passage. BJ is gonna try and clear out the shorter route for you to escape after you have planted the bomb in the laboratory. When it's armed you have 5 minutes to escape from the blast radius.
This mod features:
-21 maps (20 regular and 1 secret) including contributions from Gerolf, Justy and Thomas Weiling
-new graphics, new sounds, new music
-new enemies / bosses
-increased ammo limit (200 initially, can be expanded to 400 with a backpack)
-fullscreen HUD
-cutscenes
-escape sequence on final level
-plenty of challenges

In this brand new mod you have to stop a terrorist group conducting experiments on an unknown island that involves dogs and mutants. Our hero is Robert "Fox" Moore or as others like to call him: "One-eyed Fox". Sounds familiar? Of course it does, he is the protagonist in Unwanted Mission Pack after all. This time you have to guide him through 21 levels of action and carnage, explore the secrets of the terrorist base and stop them at all costs.
Fox is not alone however. BJ is also playing a big part of this mission. BJ has to pick up Fox after he set up the bomb in the main laboratory, that's his primary objective. His secondary objective is to assist Fox through the different areas of the enemy territory using the transceiver if needed.
It is up to them to foil the terrorists' plans, as the world's future depends on them. After the fall of the Third Reich, such great threats shouldn't be allowed to happen again.

Hi Orka, just saw the mod yesterday and downloaded it! I missed it because there's been so many MacenWolf releases on here, I just happened to check your page and found it. Haven't played much so far - seems very different to your prior mods though! I'm getting what seems to be a bit of FPS lag which is unusual - I'm on a newer laptop, so I don't think that's it. Not sure if there's any way to make it run smoother or not. Just happened to notice it first off. Thanks for the new mod!!
Hi. Thank you for checking out the mod. Unfortunately I have no idea what could cause the FPS lag for you. I have a potato laptop, and the mod runs fine for me.
Tried to play it but Windows said there was a virus in the executable file.
I'm sorry, I can't do anything about Windows freaking out over nothing. The mod shouldn't have been allowed to be uploaded if it really did have anything harmful to one's pc.
