Description
Basinet with rounded visor. The traditional houndskull visor began with a rounded snout, that tapered over time into a cone, in an effort to increase deflection against incoming arrows. The result however increased the weight of the helmet, as well as making it forward-heavy; and thus houndskull designs came full circle within one century, returning to the domed snout.
