DS:Remod is both a HD pack and a translation mod for the horror themed Czech made mod "Dead Sector". This Remod also tries to fit the models and such to fit the time period and location.

Atmospheric, proffesionally made campaign, with a focus shifted vastly towards puzzles and exploration while the combat takes distant second place.

Some sections can be quite hard to figure out, but not in an insane or illogical way: I am generally not very good at your typical HL campaign puzzles, but I managed to beat this without walktrough.

Visuals are excellent and highly polished, some of these environments wouldn't feel out of place in a decent Source mod. Lighting, ambient sound effects and choice of skybox all help create this really melancholy, haunting atmosphere that I really appreciated.

This mod was pretty fun. It took on a more puzzle-based feel at first and eventually went on to become more combative. The setting throughout was dark and foreboding. Any time there was combat, it was balanced. The puzzles were probably the most difficult part, as some took a while to decipher. There were only three weapons, two being guns that you don't get until near the end, unfortunately. I would have liked more gunplay from the beginning, but that's just me.

Very original puzzles, particularly the one with the boxes.

The maps are decently detailed but some of them were a little too hard in the gameplay part.

The ending map was kind of dissapointing because you can just run to the exit without much trouble.

Overall, a recomended entry in the modding scene.

Great looking horror campaign that is well worth playing, as long as you don't mind its focus on (sometimes pretty hard) puzzles and atmosphere.
You are limited to crowbar replacement and shotgun (you will receive later only well off into the campaign), and you are encouraged to avoid combat.

I'm still amazed by what this mod had to offer.
There were puzzles, jumping parts and a bit of horror involved.
I really liked the shore-cave-design and the ship/containeryard parts.
Especially the little wooden planks-running parts held such an athmosphere. I didn't encounter one single glitch or texture clipping.
Some puzzles were pretty hard, but I solved almost all of them myself.
This mod also was hard. Most of the time I was down to approx. 10 hp.

Another great factor is that you only had a crowbar and a shotgun.
This added challenge to the whole thing and made the enemies more fearsome.
Great work, also I'd like to thank ZikShadow for translating the whole thing.
