This simple addon changes the way economy works over time. New game is not neccesary, compatible with any other addon that modifies traders.
"Inflation reflects a reduction in the purchasing power per unit of money", without necessarily reducing the price at wich items are sold at traders over time.
Description:
By default the economy in DA works the following way:
- Each week (player) buying prices increase, and selling prices decrease. The game starts with a 4:1 ratio (buying:selling at Sidorovich), and changes every week at a constant rate during 9 weeks
resulting in the final ratio of 21:1.
This addon does the following:
- Each week buying increase even more, but selling prices increase aswell at a minor rate. The game
starts with the same ratio, and changes every week at a variable rate during 9 weeks resulting
in an 7:1 ratio.
Example:
With and without this addon, a piece of bread bought at Sidorovich at the beggining of the game will cost 520 ₽, and can be sold for 120 ₽.
- On the 9th week without this addon:
- On the 9th week with this addon:
- Buy 1280 ₽ /// Sell 184 ₽
The final buying prices increase much more with this addon, but selling prices are raised (a bit) aswell
instead of going down. Resulting in a smaller difference at the final ratio, and therefore it
decreases difficulty.
Compatibility:
- New game is not necessary.
- This addon changes only trade_discounts.ltx file, should be compatible with every other addon
that modifies traders inventories and more.
Additional Info:
-Traders preferences and proportions are left untouched.
-The increment of prices is proportional to time, in order to keep a difficulty curve. The first
few weeks the prices will change slightly compared to abrupt changes on the final weeks. Every
third week a bigger jump on prices takes place (3rd, 6th, 9th).
-By default on the mod, medical supplies bought at a medic trader are 'cheap' at the beggining
of the game but they have a higher rate of change, resulting in a bigger difference in the
final ratio. This difference is kept and increased by this addon, medics sell medical supplies
at the same price at the beggining of the game. But the impact of inflation over time is bigger
than common traders.
-A 'side effect' of inflation is devaluation. And while the prices at wich you sell items will
raise at a low rate to counter this, the rewards of missions are kept untouched. Therefore a
money reward received on the 9th week will have less value than the same reward received on the
1st week, just like default.

Interesting, I'll be trying this out!
I like it. Playing on day 80+ and it works as intended.
I know it's still a static approach but I like it more than vanilla DA. :D
